What a way to motivate your team fisher, 3-3 and you’re accepting anything less than a superbowl. I would be P.O as a fan to hear my team is not expecting to be contenders for the SB. You should know by now, once you’re in the post season, whatever record you had in the regular season don’t count. Every team starts at 0-0, might as well tank the season from this point, way to go fisher you ruined it.

Damn! I would like to know what I said wrong? Not bashing on the rams, just don’t agree with fisher and his statement. Shouldn’t any team go into a season expecting to be contenders for the SB? Both SB the giants won recently, nobody had them in contention but you know what, they proved everybody wrong.

The Rams are not going to the Super Bowl this year. It was widely known, from the beginning when he took over. He knew there was going to be a rebuilding period here. He and the whole team from top to bottom knew that. So, making moves for the future of this team and moving pieces around to make that turn around shouldn’t be unexpected. He’s (Jeff Fisher) is fully aware of how to build this team inside out. Trading anyone for any player to help this team isn’t regarded as throwing in the towel. Jeff isn’t an idiot. He will make this team as competitive as he can. He is well aware of its strengths and weaknesses. I do trust his decision making, this whole idea of trading for more picks maybe just what he thinks will help. Go RAMS..

Steven Jackson is the Rams has been for quite awhile. If he should want to retire a Ram. Then he and Jeff Fisher will be happy to make that happen. If I were Jeff Fisher, I’d trade Bradford to Kansas City for a high draft pick. I think more highly of Austin Davis, he is as accurate and has much more mobility with more tenacity. The Rams could then have another 2nd round pick. Plus if Jackson decided to want to go anywhere else. Then the Packers, would be my first choice. Then another 2nd rounder or more could be there. The Rams could also gain the Kansas City wide receiver wanting to leave to another team in need of his talents. Giving up Harvey Dlahl would not be a good trade unless it was for at least 2 early round picks maybe 49ers.

All you ppl talking Fisher is giving up, throwing in the towel and how y’all feel bad for the fans. Really? Ask your self this for your team would u want a coach that yells championship every year and claims the team is in good position when it is obviously flawed or for a coach to be real with you? Anyone who has watched the Rams this year see a lot of improvement but still aren’t a SB caliber team. The games they won have been sloppy and the games they lost have been sloppier. The 2 SB contending teams we played so far (Chicago and Green Bay) both won rather easily, although the defense kept the scores closer than what it actually was. Fisher is simply acknowledging the fact that we are not there yet. You may be able to build a champion through free agency and trade but you build a franchise through the draft.

We should trade Steven Jackson and a 2nd round pick for Tim Tebow and Santonio Holmes. With Holmes out for year it devalues his trade value. The Jets should take it Bc Holmes it out for the year and has also been a headache for them in the past (where as Fisher likes players with attitude) and they could end all their Tebow drama(since Sanchez has been playing better no need for them to feed a qb battle when there isn’t one) and SJax will help them alot(since Ryan loves pounding the ball) and a early draft pick could help them add good depth which is needed. The rams (having so many draft picks) can afford to give one away and they will have a true #1 receiver for next season and they can run the wildcat with Tebow. (There were reports of The Rams wanting to make a deal for Tebow if the Jets and Broncos deal fell through.) I know it says we are the ones trying to trade the players for picks but still a trade for someone like Sanatonio will help us a lot more than a mid round pick.

If the Rams are shopping SJax, the Packers, Lions, Falcons, and Jets are the only competitive teams that could use a RB. The Jets have an edge because theyre out of conference.

Sure, SJax is old by RB standards–but cmon the guy is NOT the standard RB. He’s an absolute beast. If I ran the Packers, I would think about trading a third rounder to see three years of a Rodgers/Jackson backfield. An elite QB certainly extends a RB’s career… yikes the more I think about it, that would be one scary duo.

The Falcons should trade a low round pick for guard Harvey Dahl, his re-acquisition could help solidify the shaky right side of the Falcons line with C Todd McClure & RT Tyson Clabo effing up in recent weeks. The dude can bring back the angst. And the Rams can unload an aging expensive player. The current RG seems to be okay now but could revert to last years suckiness.

A 29 year old RB won’t command more than a 5th round pick in today’s NFL. Jackson might only be the third best RB on that team right now. Most of their other players worth owning are young so I don’t see them parting with any of them.

I’m guessing those of you commenting that Fisher is letting the team down or alienating the fan base aren’t actually following the Rams. Fisher has the youngest team in the NFL competing every week. The fans and players are excited that the team isn’t getting beat 32 – 3 by every team in the NFC West. This team is a questionable call and a missed FG away from possibly being 5-1 which is nuts.

The team has shown a lot of loyalty towards Steven Jackson. IF he is being shopped I’m guessing they talked to him about it beforehand. He can be a free agent after this year and he if he had a chance to go to a legitimate contender he might be willing to accept a trade.

I also wonder if the Rams might be more interested in young players than picks. They need a lot of help on O-Line and at WR just to make it through this season.

If the Rams slip into the playoffs the Rams are not the Giants or the Packers. Jackson is not worth a high draft pick, not a 3rd. Its a world of part time backs and its never been a world where you bank on 30 year old backs. We all can rattle of lists of guys who fell off the cliff. He’s also not there next year. Rchardson will be there next year. So it makes sense to see what they have in him.
So who besides Detriot has a decent RB but does not have the second guy, AND is and a team that Could win this year? Pitt? Cincy (maybe same boat as Rams)? Packers?
Someone that does not need him to pound it every play for 2 or 3 years but splits time with that teams back of the future.

They are 2-0 in the division, which is incredible. and really should be looking at 4-2 since they were jobbed week 1 at Detroit.
Loving this young team, but no they won’t be SB bound this year. I’ll continue to cheer for whoever plays the Redskins and hope they add a few more blue chips next year. The future is looking bright.

That is a horrible idea. Why on earch would we need Steven Jackson? Ever heard of Mikel LeShoure? Ya, thats OUR running back. And YOUNG running back.

We need a new Center and RG to improve the Lions running game, NOT another running back.

The fact is that the Rams are not going to the Super Bowl this year, no matter what anybody says (unless it’s Sam Bradford saying “I was bitten by a rdaioactive albatross and now I can fly the ball into the end zone on every play”).

Even if they did, and even if they won, it would be a freak accident, they’d be the least talented Super Bowl team in the modern era, and, needless to say, a repeat would be even less likely. What Jeff Fisher is doing makes a lot of sense. He’s turning their team into a franchise, which is capable of winning Super Bowls (plural) on its own merits in real life, not just the idle speculation of PFT commenters. Ultimately, this is not only the best way to win, but also what the people of St. Louis deserve, and, possibly most importantly, the best way to keep the Rams in the city for the long haul.

On a less serious note, who else is seriously digging Fisher’s shades in the photo? Is that just a breast cancer awareness thing or is he more of a party animal than anybody realized?
