As a Steelers fan, I hope he doesn't come back until he is 100%.

Many times a player rushes back from injury before they are ready and it causes the injury to be worse, or could even ruin his career.

As one of the other comments said, he is the future of the defense, and if they ruin him, along with losing Lewis and Reed in the next couple of years, the Ravens D would be killed.

I hope for his sake Suggs knows what he is doing, and the bosses have the guts to keep him off the field if he isn't ready, regardless of him wanting to play or not.

This game or season IS NOT worth his career.

This seems crazy. I could maybe see a player coming back early from this injury if he was a pocket-passing QB.

But a power/speed pass-rusher coming back early seems impossible (or not very smart). At some point, it feels like a team has to step in and protect a player from himself.

Couldn't be that the team wanted to maintain element of surprise in a game that could have a huge impact on home field during the playoffs. Nah.

It must be that the GM, who has total control over when he's activated to the 53-man roster, and the coaching staff, who have complete control over who is on the game-day 46 and who goes in during the game, lost a "push-and-pull between Suggs and" themselves. Even though they hold all control over who plays, it's obvious "they aren’t willing or able or inclined to try to keep him from playing."

"How else can we explain the stream of reports, both local and national, contradicting the claims of Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter of ESPN?" It certainly couldn't be that the fact he wasn't on the 53 meant they didn't have to list his injury status so they could have a strategic advantage going into one of the biggest games of the season. Nope. That doesn't make nearly as much sense as the team being somehow bullied into letting one of their most important assets go out onto the field and risk re-injuring himself when they don't think he is ready.

Strawman analysis at it's finest!

"Still, if the Ravens couldn’t or wouldn’t or didn’t dare try to keep Suggs from getting in position to dress for today’s game, it’s unlikely that they’ll be able to keep him on the sidelines."

Why? Does Whinebaugh really have that little control of his team? If he's not ready, do they let him waddle out to re-rupture the thing? They had to activate him or permanently IR him. I'll be impressed when he actually does something other than take up space on the filed or reinjure himself—which I hope he does NOT. Much ado about nothing.
