When Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs tore his Achilles tendon during the offseason, he might have been the only person alive who seriously believed he could play as soon as October. But he was right.
Suggs is active for today’s game against the Texans.
This completes an amazingly fast recovery from an injury that usually costs players an entire season. Suggs has only missed the minimum six weeks that were required when he opened the season on the non-football injury list.
We don’t know how many plays Suggs will get or how effective he will be, and some reports have suggested that Suggs isn’t in great shape -- which would be understandable considering that he’s been rehabbing a serious injury. But considering that Suggs has proved all the doubters wrong to this point, it’s hard to bet against him having an immediate impact on the Ravens’ defense.
