@ballboy48 If you honestly think Weeden has played better than Luck and RGIII, please go to your nearest mental health institution and check yourself in. Luck (mind you hes already had his bye)- 1674 passing yards, 10 tds (7 pass 3 rush) 7 ints on 134 of 250 attempts. RGIII (again mind you, he was knocked out of a game in the 2nd quater)- 1601 passing yards, 13 tds (7 pass 6 rush) 3 ints on 133 of 189 attempts. Weeden- 1783 passing yards, 9 tds to 10 ints on 154 on 272 attempts. So yeah more passing yards and passing touchdowns, but it took him an extra game on Luck to compile 100 more yards than him and took 100 more attempts on Griffin III to get 183 more yards. Weeden is playing good, but to say he’s playing better than Luck and Griffin is insane.

Actually you’re not factoring in that Weeden’s stats includes a week one game in which he threw 4 interceptions and had a 5.1 QB rating (thus your extra game logic does not have merit). Eliminate that game and Weedens numbers are the same minus 4 interceptions and 118 yards so his passer rating would actually go up to 83.4 (which is higher than Luck’s) and would still have more passing yards than RGIII.

I’m not a Weeden fan but facts are facts. It’s only their rookie year so I’m not going to call him a future hall of famer but as far as being a pure passer goes he has played better than Luck and RGIII at this point in their respective careers and has done it with a lot less talent around him.

I appreciate your defense of Holmgren as I too believe he doesn’t get enough credit for what he’s done but you do realize Holmgren didn’t draft anyone (other than being responsible for the Colt McCoy pick in 2010) and no one inherited anyone from Mangini as the chore players that Mangini had in his first and only Holmgren less season were leftovers from the previous coach and front office.

There are a ton of games in the past and probably in the future that can be blamed on Shurmur. This is not one of them.

Agree with you about Shurmur, but you’ll be proven dead wrong about Holmgren.The players he drafted and they are developing last year and this, will be the nucleus of a winning team in 2013 and for several years beyond. New owner Haslam know this and will stick with those players.

Just think of how big the O line could be right now, continue building with the cornerstone Joe Thomas already there.

I still say its the least conditioned team in the league. There injuries are never ending.

Also, rookie QBs should get as much action as possible. Rookie RBs can benefit from an early season time share as they pick up protection and adjust to the pro game (ie… don’t get injured a la Matthews).
