Brady Quinn will remain the starting quarterback in Kansas City for at least another game.
Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel confirmed today that Quinn -- and not Matt Cassel -- will start on Sunday against the Raiders. Crennel indicated that he made the change because he thinks Quinn gives the Chiefs the best chance to win, not because of any lingering effects from the concussion Cassel suffered two weeks ago.
“I’m changing the quarterback. Brady Quinn will be the starter. Matt will be the backup,” Crennel said, via Johnny Kane of KMBC.
Before being injured against the Ravens, Cassel was off to a terrible start to the season, with nine interceptions and six fumbles. Quinn wasn’t any better when he got his first start of the season in Week Six against the Buccaneers, completing 22 of 38 passes for 180 yards, with no touchdowns and two interceptions.
Crennel didn’t have any good choices at quarterback, but he made clear today that he thinks Quinn is the better choice.
