How thin are the Lions in the secondary? So thin that their active players for tonight’s game against the Bears include one cornerback who signed today, and one cornerback who signed on Thursday.

The Lions have confirmed that cornerbacks Justin Miller, who signed today, and Alphonso Smith, who signed on Thursday, are both active tonight. Both Miller and Smith were previously with the Lions, so they at least know the defense. But no team wants to go into a game relying on a couple of cornerbacks who weren’t even in the league a week ago. Rookie cornerback Jonte Green will be getting the first start of his career tonight.

Detroit’s inactives are Bill Bentley, Jacob Lacey, Corey Hilliard, Jason Fox, Kellen Moore, Kevin Smith and Ronnell Lewis.

Chicago’s inactives are Alshon Jeffery, Sherrick McManis, Edwin Williams, Matt Toeaina, Cheta Ozougwu, Brody Eldridge and Nate Collins.
