APAs explained last night after the Steelers-Bengals game, Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey will provide an update on Monday regarding the injured left foot of running back Maurice Jones-Drew.
The status of the 2011 rushing champ, who was in street clothes and a walking boot and outfitted with crutches in the second half of Sunday’s overtime loss to the Raiders, remains unknown as all parties keep the situation close to the proverbial vest.
As to quarterback Blaine Gabbert, and as reported last night, he’ll have an MRI Monday on a non-throwing shoulder that doesn’t appear to have any broken bones but that was causing Gabbert considerable pain.
The Jags need to get healthy quickly in advance of Sunday’s game against the Packers. Then again, it may not matter how healthy the Jags are at this point, based on how the Packers are playing.

This team is about to get Henne’d.
Whose cell phone is that?
“Hello? … Yeah, this is Vince Young.”
What a wus. What? You should dump the crutches and boot, and get back on it. You’re just not tough enough. Signed, Jay Cutler
Mike Mularkey just held a press conference.
“First the bad news, our only decent player is done for the year.”
“Now the good news, Blaine Gabbert is done for the year too.”
MJD acts as the official spokesman as to whether Jay Cutler should play through the pain.
