Dumb? The Raiders have done it twice, and it’s worked both times. Janikowski was drafted in 2000 and is still kicking the crap out of the ball. He was drafted 17th. Every team in the league has burned higher picks on guys that have busted out since then. Oh wait..you’re dumb.

I would take 15-20 years of one of the most powerful, accurate kickers of all time over your picks from the last 20+ years, except for LT and Eli, ah Eli..LOL Chargers are a joke. You choke.

The Chargers weren’t given a choice. Eli was refusing to play for the Chargers so what else could they do but get what they could?

Another player that was selected in the Eli Manning trade. I have to admit, it looked pretty good at first.
Eli was slow to develop and Rivers was a gunner. Plus they got Shawne Merriman with the Giants first pick the next year. Kaeding was rock solid but missed a couple clutch kicks in the post season.

Merriman hasn’t made an impact in years, Rivers looks terrible and has never won anything meaningful and now this. I’d say a new era in Chargers football is indeed in the air.

I just remember all those bitter Chargers fans taunting Giants fans over the trade. I think you judged too quickly.

I must admit, I was one of those fans. A chargers fan living in NY, nonetheless. I wouldnt say bitter, but definitely willing to rub it in his face that he chose NY over SD considering our success and the Giants lacktherof. Stubborn Giant fans were never willing to admit we got the better of the trade. Eventually, however, the tables would turn and they would be correct. Im just hoping there is still time for the tables to turn once more.

Was great in the regular season, choked in the playoffs, hasn’t been heard from in the last two years.

He was rock solid during the regular season but a total choker in the playoffs… but really… we haven’t been to the playoffs for the past two season’s and it looks like this will make it three in a row.

Maybe if Norv was getting fired that would have an impact… but Nate?

The Chargers- my Chargers- have become a bunch of soft underachieving prima donnas ever since Marty got fired… and the Super Bowl window has closed. Hey Dean Spanos… it’s time to reload and rebuild. Start with a new coach….PLEASE!
