Giants say they remember Jerry Jones’ comments

Before the season, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones urged fans to “come to Cowboys Stadium and watch us beat the Giants’ asses.” Jones took some heat for those comments, but when the Cowboys beat the Giants in Week One, he appeared to be vindicated.

However, the Giants are now coming to Cowboys Stadium, and they say they remember Jones’ comments as they prepare to kick the Cowboys’ asses.

“We take pride in the billboard postings and different things, which motivates our team,” Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw told the Star-Ledger. “We just use it all for motivation for our team.”

Giants safety Antrel Rolle said his team is looking for payback in Dallas.

“Obviously Dallas beat us the first game of the season, so we are definitely looking for get-back,” Rolle said. “We’re definitely looking for some get-back at this point in time.”

The Giants are 3-0 at Cowboys Stadium, which opened in 2009, and Bradshaw said, “We have fun in Dallas stadium.” Jones’ comments may make winning in Dallas on Sunday a little more fun.

  1. Yet another opponent of the Giants that master is talking trash, yet won’t cut the muster vs the Defending Champs… Last week it was the Skins fans trash talking and bringing up last years wins to boost. I’m sure the Cowboy faithful will bring up week 1 in this blog posting however what matters is we are 5-2 and they are 3-3 on the way to 3-4… Eli to Cruuuuuzzzz get use to hearing that from play by play announcers

  2. Whoever made the schedule should be shot. These two teams shouldn’t be finished playing each other for the season by the end of October.

  3. Should have used it as motivation last time, when it was directed at your team for that game.
Easy to say you REALLY wanted to win the second game.
Victor Cruz won’t see the endzone all day.

  4. Great, I wouldn’t expect anything less. Now let’s show this plastic face big mouth fool who is in charge and who is the defending world champions.

    Blue all the way….Giants Football

    All In…

They used this for their first game too. We know how that ended…

Here’s what else we know……How the season ended last year.

  6. I think all the division games should be played in the second half of the season. Just my opinion.

First game Dallas took it to us on our homefield. Hopefully not having a high school corner (Tyron)out on the field this week will help the Giants defense.

  7. Well there is a good chance they will beat the cowboys in cowboys stadium because that place has no home field advantage.

  8. Giants have the best QB,so they are playing on the road,by far the best big game road team in the nfl, with the best deep thrower in tight game situations.Get ready Dallas here they come.

“Giants say quite a lot” would also be a fitting headline.

“Giants say quite a lot and back it up” would be a more fitting headline.

Being “defending champs”…they sure aren’t doing a very good job at it.

They are 5-2. 3 teams in the league have a better record than them, and 3 more are tied. And, since they technically can’t defend their crown until the playoffs start, exactly what aren’t they doing a good job OF?

  10. The Giants should win this game, because they are the better team, and playing great, while Dallas is barely getting by.

But NY talks more trash than anyone…which is fine, but they always cry like baby’s if another team says anything.

They can’t use this as a rallying cry, because they went on and on and cried about it before the last game.

  11. Hahaha. So predictable.

Jerry already made it clear BEFORE WEEK 1 that he misspoke and was referring to the Week 1 game when he made that comment.

But since the Giants took it on the chin in that game, now let’s all pretend that Jerry was actually referring to their Week 8 matchup.

  12. It wasn’t good enough motivation back then, but two months later it’s supposed to be even better motivation? Uh….

  13. The Raiders won all their division games last year or the year before and finished 6-10. Division games are important but overrated like the Cowgirls.Remember Skip Bayless’s book “Boys will be Boys ?”. The pilot of Jerry’s private jet said “Jerry and a stewardess would go into the private room and the plane would have some very mild shaking for a minute. ”

    I rest my case.

  14. theres nothing more beautiful in the NFL then jerry jones every year talking about superbowl this and that, and talking about the giants..then in the 4th quarter watching his facial expressions as eli tears through that defense on his way to another W in dallas stadium…still havnt forgot eli winning dallas stadium opener then the look on JJ face was a thing of beauty..

  16. “We take pride in OLD billboard postings and different things, which motivates our team,” Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw told the Star-Ledger. “Next we’re going after those teams who said Phil Simms would never win a Superbowl.”

  17. What’s funny is the Giant’s have been talking for weeks now. Bradshaw said he expected to be able to run against SF. JPP told RG3 not to come to his side. And now this. Notice the Giants have been winning. It’s funny how so many don’t realize the Giants only talk when they know there good. It’s a show of confidence. I sense that the fans of others team can sense the monster is growing in NY. The bad thing for other teams is the Giants are actually getting healthy which they haven’t been so far.

It was two years ago and the Raiders finshed 8-8

  19. I’m convinced Cowboy fans would still run their mouth if they went 0-18 by saying things such as “yeah but did you see how we lead in the 3rd Q of that week 8 game” smdh this is the reason the Cowboys will continue to be trash and a non factor in the NFL, because the fan base likes Jerry Jones being a loud mouth and doing post game interviews, and giving out injury reports, you fools don’t realize he’s the real reason you guys haven’t won in 18yrs. As a Giants fan I hope he continues to run his mouth and run the Boy’s into the ground

  20. Wait, so what happened in Week 1?

Doesn’t the trash talk and bulletin board material usually happen for the game right after its said?

I mean, Jerry makes the pep rally speech and then the Giants are like “Yeah, you just wait until we come to your house. Forget about the Week 1 game between us, we’ve got that week 8 game circled!!”

Hahahaha.. That is so funny right?

What were we last year in the division?

    Oh, that’s right, 3-3..

How did that turn out for us?

    Ultimate FAIL by you.

  23. this is all a setup and all the owners and players are in on it. they talk garbage just so the ratings can be as high as possible. mo’ ratings = mo’ money. they are all in it together. jerry jones parties with opposing players. he had joe gibbs in his locker room last week. they all love each other actually.

  24. Eli Manning is the poster child of it’s better to be lucky than good. In Jerry World I doubt the refs will bail the Giants out like they did against the Skins. Offsides when there wasn’t, questionable illegal motion, a phantom “leg whip”, an egregious hands to the face the refs ignore, and Lochlear holding Kerrigan all day…yup, if the game is called properly the Skins and RG3 roll all over the Giants and it’s not even close.

  25. The only thing Giants fans can point to is garbage cherry-picked situational stats to try to paint Eli as some awesome quarterback. Just because you’re behind in the 4th, and the offense scores, doesn’t mean the quarterback worked some kind of magic. It was probably his fault the team was losing in the first place. It’s a team sport. The truth is it took him five years to get his QB rating over 77. Pretty pathetic in the passing era. If not for a dropped interception and a miracle catch, he puts up what…10 points against the Pats in the first Superbowl? What about the Kyle Williams bounty fumbles last year? And the dropped Wes Welker pass? His exploits seem to be more or less his opponents effing up than some great heroics. The list goes on and on. I think fans of most teams are more stressed when their squad goes up against an Aaron Rodgers than an Eli Manning.

  26. Can we get the still shot of Jerry in his box after his Cowboys blew it against the Champs last year? Makes me laugh every time. Thanks.

Eli is the modern day Montana and 3-0 in Dallas new stadium. First win ever in that place was a giants win. Eli signed the wall to confirm.

    See ya Sunday Cowgirls.

P.s love how Aikman said how lame Dallas fans are for home games last week.

  27. Eli is the modern day Joe Montana. Dallas fans wish they had a two time SB MVP playing for them Sunday.

  28. taintedlombardis – the only stat that matters is SB Wins and MVPs. Manning has 2 SB rings in 5 years and was the SB MVP in both. Sure Aaron Rodgers is a great QB, but if you can’t see Eli’s greatness, you are either just a sore loser, or a very poor evaluator of talent. Eli proved he is elite and we’ll just see how he leads the Giants to another victory this weekend.

  29. I also love how every team that loses to the Giants (and their fans) claim they had a BAD game and it was their play that lost the game, not the GREAT play of Big Blue. It is precisely the GREAT play of the Giants, that causes the poor play of these teams they beat. Whether it is San Francisco, Dallas or Green Bay, the Giants played great on their SB run and continue to play well this year. They were and are still the better team. The Dallas loss came in the first game of the season came with half the defensive backfield missing and the offense out of sync. Dallas came ready to play and beat us soundly. Time for some payback and yes Jerry can eat crow (again).

  30. We can all agree that talk is cheap and that most of the players do talk trash. We can also agree that we’ll be going back and forth with this Giants this or Cowboys that but really when it comes down to it, is how the season ends, agree?

Look, FACT is, people love to hate on Big Blue because they play mediocre during the season, even barely making .500 but when the playoffs come, they seem to figure things out. I think, out of everything, this is what haters can’t stand. And the FACT that their team cannot, CANNOT duplicate this success. Admit it, I am a Giants fan and it’s downright crazy. Would I rather them get 11 wins and run all over the division and win the SB, HELL YEAH, but guess what, the team as it is at the moment, isn’t built like that. So, with that being said, we’ll just have to settle for what we can get, hey at least, we make the playoffs, right? Even you guys can’t deny that.

So, Cowboys fans, let’s stick with the facts shall we:

Boys haven’t really been successful in the past few years. As a matter of fact, it kills you guys that ELI has won all of his games (3-0, I believe) in his home away from home. And, let’s not forget, have 2 SBs to Romo’s big fat 0. FACT is, AGAIN, you guys would really, REALLY be sore when Eli does it again this Sunday, on his way, more than likely to another SB.

And guess what, even if the Cowboys win Sunday’s game, what is that, one win? You can rest assure, as they have shown, they cannot maintain a streak and may falter at seasons end. SOOOOO, enjoy the game, coz I will.

  31. In Week one The Giants Secondary was thin. Tony Romo was lookin like Troy Aikman out there Vs that Week One Secondary. But now coming into this game, Hakeem Nicks is healthy, Cruz is on a roll ((Dropped 5 Passes in 1st game)) and it is the Cowboys who have some issues, like Sean Lee Out for season, Demarco Murray not playing, and the Giants are 1-2 in the division so they actually need this game and will play like they need this game. The Giants can roll into the Bye week sporting a fresh 8-2 record, and rest up and finish the stretch run lookin for the number 1 seed in the NFC. 6-2 coming right up in Dallas!!!!!
