Oh my dear fellow Bears fans...we all know the Packers are a great team and deserve respect. They have been and are a good team with great players. I admit I have a small crush on Rodgers and Clay, unless he hits my quarterback. There's really no need to bash the Packers or any other team.

As a Bears fan, I do like Suh. However, like Cutler will always have the reputation for being the mopey uninvolved, emotionless QB, Suh will always have the reputation of being a very dirty player simply because of how he played his rookie year and parts of last year.

Cutler taking the high ground on this does not surprise me. He's just that type of person (so I've read).

It was a good hit (though admittedly, I thought it was McMahon/Martin all over again because I hadn't realized Cutty landed on the football...I thought it was his shoulder that took the brunt of the tackle!) and if Cutler doesn't have a problem with it, then the fans shouldn't. Suh is maturing in this game and the fact that he checked on Cutler while he was down and then shook his hand as he got up and left the field proves it. A year ago, he wouldn't have bothered to make sure the person he hit was okay.

"Da Bears better show some pride and pick it up a little. And by picking it up a little, I don’t mean Quitler shoving around his offensive lineman out of childish frustration like last time. Their recent pathetic history against the arch rival Packers is a complete embarrassment."

No, it is unfortunate, but your insistence that we dwell on it is asinine...I remember years when Da Bears owned the NFC North (Central back then) and made the playoffs regularly...Packers stayed home, but man, if they managed a win or two against us in an otherwise-losing season, the GB fans trash-talked worse than they do now with a good team...Bottom line is, all that matters is THIS year, and who gets further in the playoffs or to the SB...If your team spanks us again in December, but we go deeper into the postseason than you do, then all your crowing means squat. And I don't see you spanking us in any case.

Go Bears!

I don't think it will even matter when (yep) the Bears DO beat the packerds, because

1. By then Bears will already have the division locked up, and

2. The packerds will only say "we beat ourselves" anyway, or whine and cry their cheese-sauce tears about the officiating like they always do...it's always someone else's fault. WAAAH!

Their excuse-making has by now far exceeded even the Vikings delusional off-season chest-thumping and the Lions off-season arrest records - it's grown to such legendary proportions that even casual NFL fans outside of the division have come to know Green Blame for who they aren't and what they blame.

Right…Because come game day that recent history matters more than which team plays better that day."

Tell that to the Washington Generals next time they play the Harlam Globetrotters, because that's what this rivalry is starting to feel like.

Packers better than the Bears?

Packers aren't even better than the Colts. Or Vikings, for that matter.

Packers benefitted from an early season game against the Bears, where the o-line was still trying to sort itself out, and Cutler (also trying to learn to work with his third new OC in 3 years) played poorly as a result.

Toss in a lucky gimmick play and enemy turf, and there ya go.

I imagine right now most Pack fans are watching the Bears and are getting as nervous as a dairy cow does when he's alone in the barn and the Wisconsin farmer walks in.

Which is why they're all out and about, trolling in full force.

Speaking of full force, anyone who's played contact sports could see that Suh-er was trying to end Cutler's season. Suh's not only an underhanded dirtbag, but a coward and a phony.

Cutler's just too decent to call it what is was.

@larryboodry...first, thanks. I think the Bears are solid enough right now and the fact that my entire family is Bears fans makes me halfway intelligent speaking about them. You and I both know that sometimes they just fall apart and I almost had a heart attack when Suh took Cutler down, repeat of last year, no thank you. But I don't blame Suh for that particular hit..there was another play where Suh could have hit him again and didn't. I would have kissed the guy if I could have. :)

Right now the standings say otherwise...Heck, right now the standings say the Packers aren't even as good as the Vikings.

Sorry!

Bears fan here, that was a completely legal hit, and I think Marshall is right for standing up for his QB. Cutler showed his toughness getting up from that one, becuase it was BRTUAL.

That being said, Suh gonna kill someone one day. That cat is a beast! Our O-Line played well against Detroit's D-line.

This will have a cumulative effect. Suh has already been fined before, and if he has another borderline hit like this again, I'm sure he'll get fined again. QBs are the ones that bring in the most money for the NFL, and that's the reason they will get tighter and tighter on people that are trying to take them out.

Why did you write "legal"? There's no need for quotes. How many other people do you need to tell you it was legal for you to understand that? This sport is dangerous, just look at what happened to Johnny Knox. I don't care if you like Ronnie Lott, that doesn't prove anything. If you can't deal with tackles like the one Suh put on Cutler just stop watching because no one is forcing you.

Good for Jay not to give Dgigadong Sue the satisfaction of furthering his rep as a low life ( well entrenched it is). For anyone with more than four brain cells it is obvious that Suh grabbed Cutler, balanced on one leg while he swept Cutler, flung him over his leg and fell on him. It is also obvious he has been practicing this move to do it so spontaineously. Suh made a nice production of playing nice the rest of the game trying to show what a good sport he is. Jerks like him always find a bottom, the league won't step in, but a guard rail will eventually.
