saints are getting better comeon brees threw for 4 tds and 300 yards in the 1st half gist bucs hes playing like he should now.and defense never gave up jenkin ran down jackson when he was like 30 yards in front of him not to mention they had a great goal line stop that is better then they been doing.saints will be 10-6 at worst.

Doesn’t matter WHO is running the team – it’s still the same system. They (Vitt & Kromer) are both working out of Sean’s playbook and his style of coaching. No one said anything about changing systems – just a different person at the wheel – car still goes down the road the same way.

I think Joe Vitt is a more vocal leader than Kromer, as well as a more fiery personality on the sideline. If you give any credence to those characteristics contributing to team success, that might be another difference. Kromer will also get to go back to focusing on coaching the O-Line, who has struggled more than normal this season.

On a sidenote, Joe Vitt reminds me a lot of Sean Payton in his press conferences; their voices are even kind of similar. He has some great one-liners too. If nothing else, the post-game interviews will be much more interesting with Vitt in the seat rather than Kromer.

It’d have been a difficult situation regardless, but the Saints’ strategy of swapping coaches multiple times this year never made any sense to me. Vitt was the interim before the season, then he’s gone for the first six games, then he’s back again? How does that help with team continuity? It looks like they were more concerned with avoiding the perception that somebody might have a shot at taking Payton’s job than in establishing a system that might actually succeed in his absence.

The biggest change will be Kromer going back to concentrating on the O-line and the run game. If he can make any kind of improvement there, it will help out the defense…
