I can’t see him in Dallas. The Cowboys already have a head coach named Jerry Jones. No way Holmgren would put up with Jerry’s meddling.

Come back to Seattle and retire Mike . You and Kathy are beloved by the community . And myself personally , if you were to replace Bevel as OC with the Hawks ( it’ll never happen , but .. ) that’d be just fine with me . Can you imagine Carroll’s defense with Holmgren’s offense ?!

I like Mike. I wish he’d have gotten more done in Cleveland, and that we had more to show for it. The QB guru gave us Seneca Wallace, Jake Delhomme, Colt McCoy, and finally, Brandon Weeden.

I think I would preferred seeing Mike as a head coach here, but I think that boat has sailed.

Mike should have stuck with coaching – it’s what he did best. He was never capable of doing the GM/Coach thing – that’s why Ron Wolf wouldn’t give up that job when Mike was with the Packers.

Of course they gave both jobs to Mike Sherman so that wasn’t very different.

Philadelphia will not be a destination for Holmgren. Reid is from the same coaching tree. Just wont work. Besides, Lurie is an admirer of the Steelers system, which craves continuity and little turn over.

More likely is that Reid, if released, will be replaced by a true GM/personnel guy, and then someone to simply be HC. That means t wont be Cowher, either, even since he is from the Steelers system.

It would not surprise me if Philadelphia replaced Reid with a solid HC type from a college background, paired with a good personnel guy. Or someone with some peripheral tie to Philadelphia. For instance, Jim Mora Sr., if he wanted to return, might be an interesting choice.

As for Holmgren, I would not be surprised at all to see him in Dallas next year. Detroit might be an interesting option, too. But Dallas seems to be the best fit.

Since ’99, we’ve had Chris Palmer, Butch Davis, Romeo Crennel, Eric Mangini, and worst of all, Pat Shurmur.

Not exactly Paul Brown, Chuck Noll, Vince Lombardi, and Tom Landry, is it?

Jerry Jones could do one good thing for his team. Hire Holmgren as coach and then be seen and not heard. The only problem is that Holmgren isn’t going to tolerate the ‘babysitter for dez bryant’ approach to team management. Bryant will either be out the door or will have to actually start acting like *GULP* an adult instead of a 12 year old throwing a temper tantrum.
