Actually, that’s what smart businessmen do. They don’t assume that they know everything, and they bring in experts when necessary.

As mind blowing as this might be to you, alot of these guys actually own businesses outside of football and don’t spend 24 hours a day obsessing over their team.

The idea that new GMs and coaches always want to bring in their own QB is slightly flawed, too. Do you think if New Orleans had decided to hire a new coach after bounty gate that the new coach would have wanted to get rid of Drew Brees? Not comparing Newton to Brees but you get my point

I would think the fact that you have a very young, supremely talented franchise QB who may need a little work in the maturity department would be an attraction to a top coach who would have the confidence that he could fix the kid’s head.

As for the GM, I would personally like to see Mike Lombardi get another shot.

And it’s a great move to hire a consultant to help you find a GM when the decision is this big, rather than being stubborn and doing it yourself. People are finding any reason to chastise this team at this point, and its ridiculous.

My gut tells me that Richardson has cheaped it out long enough and Cowher is going to take the job, build his team and eventually step in. I think it’s the location he’s been waiting for unless he’s locked in with Mara and Tisch once Coughlin retires.

When the Panthers succeeded last year, it was with a more minimalist offense, read A-B-C and if they weren’t open, run. When they added Louis Murphy, it was another shiny object they felt they had to incorporate, at the expense of LaFell’s growth. Now Cam’s trying to read A-B-C-D-E *sack*. Chudzynski and Rivera’s inexperience bear more blame than they’re getting, and you can clearly see Cam is uncomfortable, whether you like him or not. Simplify. Execute. Work harder on each play than the play before. The wins will come.

Another name that comes to mind is Bill Polian although he might just be interested in advancing his son’s career.
