Getty ImagesAdrian Peterson has been asked so many times to put a percentage on his health that he has decided to overshoot the number everyone is waiting for him to utter. Closer inspection of his words, however, reveals that Peterson still isn’t as healthy as he can be.
“I’ll say probably 175 [percent] right now,” Peterson told LaDainian Tomlinson of NFL Network. “I feel like I’m better than I was last year. But me just knowing my body, you know when one side is weaker than the other, you’re not as explosive. So that’s the only thing that I’m lacking right now. It’s strong, don’t get me wrong. Probably stronger than a lot of running backs’ left legs out there in the league, but I know there’s so much more to gain.”
Given that he’s only seven yards from the NFL rushing lead through seven games, that’s a scary proposition.
The good news? He gets a chance to add to his numbers tonight. The bad news? The Buccaneers are ranked third against the run.
The irresistible force meets the immovable object in 30 minutes.

He’s 100%. He’s saying he’s not so his current numbers will appear even more impressive.
Im a little young to have really appreciated Payton, Sanders…. so this guy is the best Rb I’ve ever seen. He’s still got another few years on top.
Damn all the best RBs played in the NFC North !
Just for the record, I can’t watch the pre-show on NFL network anymore. The Cee Lo attempts to (sing?) entertain? Just terrible.
Peterson is 175% healthy, but not quite where he wants to be. Which helps explain how he managed a 6.7 GPA and still failed.
Eating one of those Ray Rice-Sized burritos oughta take care of that.
frankdatank – Tomlinson was no joke from 2001-2007 best Ive seen since Sanders. And Sanders was downright filthy to watch.
That must really hurt,,,the rb’s who never were hurt,,,,guys a freak
Perhaps that’s why he’s only scored in two games this year.
I mean… two games.
For realz.
Well the Vikings are playing like explosive diarrhea so far.
Adrian’s run game may be taken out of the play real soon if the Bucs keep adding on the points. Minnesota have put themselves in a hole. The Vikings will have to start playing catch up and Ponder is no Drew Brees. GO BUCS!!
He’s an overrated clown.
He currently has 930 yards and 5 tds in 8 games. If thats overrated then show me underated.
