Picking apart the Week Eight picks

Every Thursday morning, we unveil our game picks for the coming week.  Every Thursday afternoon, MDS and yours truly review the picks on which we disagree during PFT Live.

This week, we disagree only on one — Redskins at Steelers.  So we talked about a couple of other game picks that make us a little nervous, and we addressed the Sunday Night Football showdown between the Broncos and the Saints.

Fortunately, there was no commentary regarding our mutual faith in the Vikings last night.  After going 12-1 last week, I’m already 0-1 this week.  Fortunately, so is MDS.

Bucs demolished vikings was shocking…I’m quite sure most folks lost money on this game…a shocker upset

My best friend won a lot of money on that game thanks to my advice….. picking the bucs was by no means a shocker…. If you closesly watch the NFL games, particularly the Bucs, you’d know that they are probably one of the most physical teams in the NFL and are pretty explosive on offense. Not to mention Gregg Schiano is a stickler for that sort of stuff. The Vikings Offense is mediocre at best, Ponder is a game manager and it showed last night. Not shocked by last night at all.

Bottom line is the Broncos are better than their 3-3 record indicates and the Saints aren’t as good as their 2-4 record indicates. Peyton Manning against the Saints defense? Won’t be a close game.

The Steelers Dinosaur Defense will be baffled by RGIII’s abilities. What this game will show is that youth and skill shall overcome old age and trudgery.

i agree, it seemed like the announcers were surprised. i wasn’t, the viking have overachieved and the bucs have slightly under achieved, really wasnt that much of an “upset”.

You must have forgotten that Drew Brees and the Saints offense are starting to click, there isn’t a defense out there that can stop these guys when they are rolling. The Bronco’s D will have trouble keeping them out of the endzone. If anything it will be a shootout. Just hope Manning’s arm doesn’t get too tired trying to keep up…

You think the Saint’s aren’t as good as their 2-4 record? Give me a break. The team overall is way better than their record. If a few plays happended differently they could easily be 5-2 or 6-1.

What? The Saints could possibly be the best 2-4 team EVER (13 & 3 last year with basically the same roster)!!!

beauregard is correct. The saints really aren’t as good as their record indicates. Both wins have been handed to them by the referees (go ahead and thumb this down Saints fans.)

Thanks for the laugh daveman8403. They were 2-4 when you posted this. I think it would take a lot more than a few plays to “happend” differently for them to be 5-2 or 6-1. Or did you already give them a win against the Broncos tonight? Speaking of which..

I guess that the Saints could now possibly be the best 2-5 team EVER, eh sb44champs.
