Yup…..its gonna be a roller coaster ride this year. I’ve been saying that all year. I will bet the team pulls out 1 or 2 upsets the rest of the way in the division…..just a hunch.

This is a great comment! Right there with you man! According to a lot of the comments on here, we are suppose to just roll over and not pull for our team. I’ve been behind this team since I was a kid…..won’t ever change. No one in their right mind had this team doing anything this year. All we wanted was improvement and we have gotten it. Hopefully it continues and the Vikes will be back on top of the North within a couple years.

Are the Vikes that bad or were the Bucs that good last night?

Answer: some of both.

Vikes have struggled in recent primetime match-ups, and the Bucs are a well-coached, up-and-coming team, with some young talent that’s starting to emerge. They are/were hungrier.

I do think Allen is partially right, too – Vikes may’ve looked past the Bucs.

Regardless of what AP or Harvin can do as individuals, it’s only so much, and that team will rise and fall with Ponder.
And the fact is its defense is not “elite” enough to carry them through games anymore. I saw a lot of tacklers getting stiff-armed last night, and almost zero pressure up the gut.

On the week 8 picks article, this is what I said (and needless to say, was right):

Kluwe’s performance is way off this year. Is he focused on his job? The 2012 NFL Punting average (to date) is 46.21. Here’s Kluwe:

In 2011, Kluwe was ranked 13th of 32, with a season average punt of 45.70.

In 2012, Kluwe was ranked 25th of 32, with a season average punt of 43.78

Give the bucs their due.. They came out on the road and played like a good team should.. We hit all aspects of the game last night and looked solid.. We should be 4-2 but its whatever, time to bounce back and keep winning.

it was a night game they play horrible when they play a night game and they had a short break yes I know the bucs did to but I am talking about my team and they will beat the lions again and I can still see them winning more games boy the vikings sure do get ragged on cause they lost a game and yes it was a terrible game on to the seahawks they do have 10 days to practice till they play again

Where do you start with this team ? No Offense, No Defense. Leslie Frazier reminds me of Jim Caldwell former coach of the Colts. Always has that deer in the headlights look. It can now be said , Ponder is awful. Showing no improvement. Harvin is carrying his numbers with run after catch, and that’s about it. O-Line can’t hold off the pass rush for more than two seconds and when Ponder tries to throw the deep pass his accuracy sucks. It;s because of Ponder that Musgrave’s play calling is limited. Harvin in the flat, Rudolph 10 yds across the middle or out route. Hand off to Peterson. Game over. Frazier a defensive guy ? / JOKE ! Vikings will lose at least six if not seven of their last eight games.

Kudos to the Bucs, they had a better game plan and better execution all around. Never expected the Vikes to win much more that 6 games, but the koolaid was starting to taste pretty good. . . .

this team has 3 serious problems that have been happening simultaneously lately….

1. o-line & rb’s not handling blitz well (if at all)
2. Ponders inability to throw an accurate deep ball (as previous poster mentioned all 3 passes to simpson were out of bounds)
3. Inability of receivers with 1 on 1 coverage to get open on their own (this has been a vikings problem for over 5 years back to chilly & tice).

as long as this continues (in addition to defenses missed tackles & lack of turnover production) this is a very 1 dimensional team with exception of blair walsh (even kluwe had a rare horrible game last nite)

Simpson is our deep threat, so opponents can put spys on Peterson and Harvin and we’re three and out. If either of them were injured, we would be in serious trouble. Ponder isn’t making it happen, give Webb some snaps. They can run right at us and keep our defense on the field for 40 minutes. Think about a nose tackle first round next year.
