For the first time since 2004, Jets linebacker Bart Scott will miss a game today.
The Jets listed Scott as doubtful on their injury report, and Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that Scott has been ruled out for today’s game.
Scott suffered a toe injury a month ago and has been hobbling through it since, but the Jets have decided to sideline him today to help it heal. Scott’s playing time has been limited and he hasn’t been particularly effective while he’s been hurt.
Scott had played in 119 consecutive games heading into today. He missed the final three games of the 2004 season with the Ravens, and those are the only three games he’s missed in his 11-year career, until today.
