Cromartie says Bush is a “punk”

The Dolphins won the battle, but the Jets have won the war of words.

After New York’s loss to Miami, cornerback Antonio Cromartie addressed a personal-foul penalty he received after a first-quarter incident with Dolphins running back Reggie Bush.

Cromartie addressed the situation after the game.  “I didn’t lose my composure,” Cromartie said, via Mark Hale of the New York Post.  “I just called [Bush] a punk and that’s exactly what he is.”

Bush and the rest of the Dolphins punked the Jets on Sunday.  So maybe Cromartie, in a way, is right.

Wow, it’s never been more clear that Cromartie just doesn’t get it, and likely never will. See if you can remember all your kids’ names, Antonio, instead of worrying about Reggie Bush. Geez, what a loser!

  2. calebsullivan says: Oct 28, 2012 5:27 PM

    Cromartie knows they lost, right?

  3. djdvd says: Oct 28, 2012 5:29 PM

Makes me think of the Tomlinson comment on the pats from years back about how they are classless and it comes from their head coach. They’d rather run their mouth than play winning football. This act is starting to wear and I doubt a lot of these people are back with the team next year.

Who’s a bigger punk? A guy like Bush that returns some trash-talking, or a guy that has a dozen illegitimate kids??

  5. drainbameged says: Oct 28, 2012 5:31 PM

    You tears taste like victory

  6. thejuddstir says: Oct 28, 2012 5:31 PM

I’m not a Fins fan and certainly not a Jests fan but this is too damn funny, Cromartie (of all freaking people) calling someone else a punk! It’s amazing that within minutes of getting their azzes stomped that the Jests start running their mouths off. Shame definitely isn’t in their vocabulary.

  7. Jose Reyes says: Oct 28, 2012 5:31 PM

The Jets are the worst. They’re the NFL’s version of divers in soccer. Resort to tricks to win at anything, bitch about others before the game and bitch about others after they lose the game.

  8. jameswestphal says: Oct 28, 2012 5:32 PM

So…a dude who could have a 5 on 5 basketball game between his kids and babymamas, with reserves, is judging the character of someone else? Makes sense. Jets are totally going to cruise to their third Super Bowl in a row! Rex was right all along.

  9. roxtar10 says: Oct 28, 2012 5:33 PM

Exactly why Cromartie is viewed as a joke in every circle: after an absolute shellacking, the only thing he cares about is his own personal agenda.
Biggest loser in the league on a team perfecting losing.

  10. vegaskid21 says: Oct 28, 2012 5:34 PM

That’s being said by a guy who had about 17 kids with 14 different mommas

  11. blacknole08 says: Oct 28, 2012 5:34 PM

Hey Cromartie, what was the score again? That’s what I thought.

  12. djeg07 says: Oct 28, 2012 5:35 PM

    whos the punk? scoreboard!!!
just because reggie doesnt have 30 kids by 40 moms he is a punk?

  13. niners816 says: Oct 28, 2012 5:37 PM

Go practice your kids’ names, Cro. And your team is terrible.

  14. sampulls says: Oct 28, 2012 5:38 PM

Does Cromartie realize how much of a Jack A he come of as when he talked like this?

  15. brokerhenry says: Oct 28, 2012 5:38 PM

The sight of big Ritchie Incognito blowing kisses at the Jets sideline said it all. See ya and goodbye. Hey, we know we have not been good. We know the Dolphins personified ineptitude in the league and have been a laughing stock for the past 5 years. But at least, we have a new coach and we drafted a quarterback in the first round since Dan Marino. It will be a successful season by our standard if we finish 8 – 8. But you, your coach said you will win the Superbowl. Really?!?! I won’t hold my breath! Let’s hope Tannehill is not badly hurt. Let’s go Dolphins!!!

  16. patriots123456 says: Oct 28, 2012 5:39 PM

And Bush says Cromartie has too many illegitimate kids.

    So who is the punk?

  17. tannethrill says: Oct 28, 2012 5:40 PM

Bush shacked him straight in the face but Bush is the punk? Dude just came over and bumped Bush and injured himself.

Cro, you’re a tool. Go learn your kid’s names and ages.

  18. latenightroach says: Oct 28, 2012 5:41 PM

Cromartie needs to shut his mouth and get to work instead of playing with his twitter.

  19. mz1394 says: Oct 28, 2012 5:41 PM

hes just crying because bushs stiff arm punked him. What a crybaby loser.

  20. conormacleod says: Oct 28, 2012 5:43 PM

Does anybody in the Jets organization realize football is a team game? I’d be ashamed to be a fan of that team. Punk indeed.

  21. akfinfan says: Oct 28, 2012 5:46 PM

I’m surprised Cromartie remembered Reggie Bush’s name considering he doesn’t even know his own kid’s name.

  22. fdugrad says: Oct 28, 2012 5:47 PM

Lots of folks telling Cro to learn the names of his offspring as well as their ages. It is clear that many have forgotten his records in the classroom at FSU. In order to do the above, one might need to be able to read and count. This excludes Cro.

  23. xpensivewinos says: Oct 28, 2012 5:52 PM

No big mystery as to why the Jets will never win.

Rex Ryan has completely cultivated this brain-dead mentality. It’s now a cancer that has completely destroyed the team.

  24. 69finfan says: Oct 28, 2012 5:52 PM

Cro, nobody cares what you say about anything, punk.

  25. bigwinintx says: Oct 28, 2012 5:53 PM

How do you get your @$$ handed to you on national T.V. and muster up the internal fortitude to talk trash against the other guy or team?

This Jets organization is in complete disarray and there’s no possible way to right this ship but to fire Rex and retool from trades and draft picks.

You lost Cro, try to focus on that and not one player…

  26. realitypolice says: Oct 28, 2012 5:58 PM

This franchise is an absolute disaster. The Jets are learning about Rex what teams that hired his dad learned about him.

Letting the inmates run the asylum may work for a year or two because the players will like you, but eventually complete and utter lack of institutional control over your team will result in exactly what the Jets organization is today.

    A total train wreck.

  27. CKL says: Oct 28, 2012 5:58 PM

I thought Samuel was the tool of the day with his twitter taunt of Reid where he spelled Reid’s name wrong on top of it, lol)…but at least his team won. If Cro concentrated as much on being great at his job as he does on all this flotsam and jetsam, he’d be great.

  28. tfaulk says: Oct 28, 2012 5:59 PM

The game was all but over after Reggie’s 18 yd run and Cromartie’s personal foul. Punk that!

  29. supremekingz says: Oct 28, 2012 6:00 PM

Cromartie is a punk, no doubt. But let’s leave the kids out of this. They didn’t ask to be born and don’t belong in this convo

  30. footballfreak8 says: Oct 28, 2012 6:02 PM

Rex Ryan ” We ONLY like to win war of words. Winning on field is secondary.”

  31. dbones750 says: Oct 28, 2012 6:03 PM

Reggie! Reggie! Reggie! Best college player I’ve seen in my lifetime.

Cromartie is a punk who has spawned multiple future punks who will in turn spawn even more future punks.

  32. melikefootball says: Oct 28, 2012 6:08 PM

Anyone surprised that the Jets would rather run their lips than win games. You know what they say about talk and the Dolphins proved that on the Jets today.

  33. njfinfan1 says: Oct 28, 2012 6:19 PM

Can the NFL be fined everytime they allow reporters into the Jets locker room? Nobody cares what this bunch of overhyped, overrated losers have to say… It’s over for this team…

This is how hard the Jets have fallen.. I am a die hard Fins fan and actually feel bad for Sanchez. I want him to go somewhere else and be succesful, he has not shot of winning over the fans in the situation the Jets have put him in.

  34. billsfan1 says: Oct 28, 2012 7:02 PM

It’s not too often that as a bills fan I can laugh at another organization.. This is one of those times…

  35. disturbedshifty says: Oct 28, 2012 7:06 PM

That’s all the Jets are this year, talk. They will always win that war.

  36. destructicus says: Oct 28, 2012 7:50 PM

I really hope Cromartie reads all these reader comments.

He continues to make the Jets the ugliest franchise in all of sports. Classless.

  37. monkeyhateclean says: Oct 28, 2012 7:58 PM

Such a shining example of the Jets, and their fans. Classless losers.

  38. mjvincent125 says: Oct 28, 2012 8:01 PM

Cro should have taken a page out of George Forman’s book and named all his kids George. Easier to remember that way.

  39. arrghmakeitstop says: Oct 28, 2012 8:07 PM

Ah the Jets, as always, humble in victory, gracious in defeat…

  40. acdc84 says: Oct 28, 2012 8:42 PM

“Cromartie is a punk, no doubt. But let’s leave the kids out of this. They didn’t ask to be born and don’t belong in this convo”

No one is saying anything bad about the kids. As a dad that doesn’t make a ton of money, I’m proud to say I’m always there for my two little girls and provide as well as I can for them. I feel for those dozen or so kids that are unfortunate enough to have Cromartie as a “father”. They will never have a decent dad in their lives, and their moms will only benefit from child support if the legal system works hard enough to garnish wages from his NFL paychecks.

  41. Mr. Wright 212 says: Oct 28, 2012 8:55 PM

So tired of the lame and overplayed “kids” joke with regards to Cro.

  42. jdmcauliffe says: Oct 28, 2012 8:58 PM

Antonio way to disappoint your 15 children

  43. miamatt says: Oct 28, 2012 9:20 PM

How’s 3-5 at the bye taste, Jets? Nothing but a bunch of gutless blowhards with a loser coach and a loser quarterback. Too bad management doesn’t even realize it yet.

  44. granadafan says: Oct 28, 2012 9:56 PM

Another me first player who epitomizes everything that is wrong with sports and sportsmanship today. Cromartie doesn’t care about his teammates or winning. He cares more about trash talking and “looking good” on the field for street cred. Instead of losing with dignity and giving the other team their due props, he makes himself look like a double loser.

  45. mtx1992 says: Oct 28, 2012 10:42 PM

Dolphins scored one point for each Cromartie kid.

  46. daubs17 says: Oct 29, 2012 3:35 AM

The funniest part about this whole post is not the post or story itself. Its the all the turd Jets fans giving all the comments thumbs down.

Hahaha, idiot Jets fans. You people would defend OJ if he was your starting RB.

  47. Akula says: Oct 29, 2012 9:47 AM

Thats high praise coming from such a valued member of society.

  48. tiffpats4eva says: Oct 29, 2012 10:44 PM

That’s strange. I thought the guy who had 9 kids by 8 different women was the punk?
