Easy Schedule?
Seattle/SanFran/Chicago/Houston/New Orleans....

The colts may wind up in the playoffs - the Rams got talent on defense...

Then you factor in the injuries - if the Bears had half the injuries we've had this season - they'd be done for.
our best coverage LBs on IR - Best Runningback on IR - Playmaking DB on IR ....
so that'd be Urlacher/Briggs/Forte/Tillman - yep, bears would be lucky to have "A" win.

First of all, give Jacksonville credit for playing extremely hard and making a game of it. Last I checked they're still an NFL team. Perhaps lower echelon, but bad teams have good games sometimes. Ask Chicago how things went against Carolina in their house. Sports media should be ashamed for simply assuming Jax would roll over for this. The Pack get a ton of national attention, and the Jags wanted to show them up for sure.

Nevertheless I agree with those of you saying the play calling was suspect. It was quite obvious the entire game they weren't going to be able to run on Jacksonville, but there McCarthy went repeatedly calling 1st down runs and putting the passing game in quick holes. Then in the play right before the Crosby field goal miss, Cobb goes to the sideline for a breather. No Jordy, no Greg, no Randall... the most senile of NFL fans knows the Packers are running at this point. Jax stuffs it easily... Mason shanks the kick.

Does McCarthy feel bad about not running enough or something? Who cares if it's everyone else's blueprint in the league... it doesn't have to be the Packers'. He has won 65% of his games by passing most of the time.

It isn't easy to win in the NFL. GB put up a W v. Jax. That's as good as any other W the team will put up when they count them up at the end of the season.

As a Packers fan I'd like them to be complete in all aspects of the game each week but that just isn't going to happen. They did what they had to.

Now if the OL could only open a hole every few weeks I'd be happy. They aren't getting anything going in run blocking.

And the play calling at the end of the game had me concerned. Why would McCarthy have been calling runs and passes form the 12 yd line up 8 points? I kept expecting a fumble or INT for TD because he was taking an unnecessary risk. I own't even get into the Jags coach going for 2 points in the first half...... Dumb.

Packers are living off an easy schedule and barely winning. Reality is they just aren’t a very good team which is probably why they are looking up at the Bears and Vikings in the standings.

They’re closer to being last in the division then they are to being first.
--------------------------

You might want to recheck that "easy schedule" garbage. Prior to yesterday's game the Packers had the 3rd hardest strength of schedule so far this year. Their schedule is about to get a lot easier....much more so than the Vikings and Bears will be.

@Chi01town,
How about those Panthers? The bears sure looked good yesterday playing catchup ALL day until the very end. The pack played bad but at least they led the entire game. If Steve Smith didn't slip on that pick 6, your team would be 5-2 right now. And tell me who the bears have beat with those six wins that would be considered impressive? And remind me who gave the Bears their only loss so far? Keep running your mouth, son. At the end of the season, when the packers have surpassed the bears in the standings, yoy'll be nowhere to be found, just like after week 2 when your team was spanked.

The Packers were pathetic today. They didn't play to win. They played not to lose. Injuries happen and they stink but a lot/most of what went wrong in that game had little to do with the injuries.

The play calling stunk. I have no idea what MM was doing today but it didn't work. And his inability to adjust when stuff isn't working continues to be an issue.

The Packers O Line were a flat out embarrassment. Every single guy on that O Line should be ashamed of how he played today. The way they're (not)playing and practically standing around twiddling their thumbs while the opposition's defense goes straight for the QB, Rodgers is gonna end up seriously injured and then this team will really know what screwed and struggling feels like.

Packers are the much better team no doubt but it got a little tiring listening to dan dierdork over and over talking about how green bay waa missing 6 starters. Well jacksonville was playing without both starting corners, their starting FS and their best LB. Their starting LG is also out for the season and they were playing without MJD, and Gabbert was playing with a torn labrum in his left shoulder. And oh yeah, they're also without their best WR, Laurent Robinson. Dierdork mentioned a couple times that MJD was out and that Gabbert "hurt his shoulder last week". But besides that the jags are just a really bad team playing against an injury-decimated packers team

This proves the Packers are unbeatable. How could anyone have ever thought the Jaguars could ever even be competitive at Lambeau against the Mighty Packers?
What? No mention of Justin Blackmon taking plays off? Especially in the fourth qtr. Three consecutive throws to him that he didn't even really try for.

Is position coach, co-ordinator and head coach should all be climbing on his arse this week about that.

This proves the Packers are unbeatable. How could anyone have ever thought the Jaguars could ever even be competitive at Lambeau against the Mighty Packers? I think the rest of the season should be cancelled and the Lombardi should be mailed to Carl Gerbschmidt as chief representative of all the owners.

To the fans calling for a better running game, you gotta be kidding me. The running game is no longer a part of the NFL, it's a pass-happy league. A-Rod had 2 receivers missing today including the best in the NFL, Jordy Nelson. Once they get him & Jennings healthy, things will be fine. I still expect their 5th Lombardi Trophy & 14th overall title this season. And with the defense looking much better now, there's not a team that can stop them.

Gabbert looked a lot better than Rat Face out there today. If he had anything approaching NFL quality receivers, the Jags would have walked away with that one. Or if their two starting cornerbacks were in the game.

Wow. This post is actually more sad than anything.

For your sake, I hope you're not related to Gabbert, but something tells me you are.

Jags fan here. Where in the world is Blaine making progress? Compared to himself maybe. First game breaking 300 yards. 55% comp rate low 6 yard per comp and threw 49 times. Zero drives for a TD. The one TD pass came off a turnover on the 13 yard line of the pack. Blaine is a bust.

Cam has better numbers but the talk last week was if the regime is going to keep him. But Blaine is making progress?

Blaine is Leftwich part 2. Please don't force him down our throats. It is tough enough being a Jags season ticket holder.

Gabbert has one decent game? We are 1-6 and looking at a top pick. We can't afford to just give Blaine 3-4 years to "learn". To many other QB's look much better.

Some fans need to step back a bit.

Missing both #1 and #2 receivers, starting FB, SS, CB and ILB.

6 starters out not even including your #1 RB and still win by 9... and it was a poor showing?

McCarthy needs to start going for the win, and stop playing to "Not lose."

While Cobb had a good game, he needs to realize that when your offense isn't playing up to it's potential, first downs are necessary. Instead of just getting an easy first down, he danced around trying to go for a home run.

Next play Alex Green falls down, and then Crosby shanks a field goal.

That set of downs right there were the reason that Jacksonville was in it late.

Thank God we get lots of people back next week and then after the bye.

Very shoddy, lethargic effort by the Pack. There are only two or three teams in the league they could have beaten today. Luckily one of them was visiting. OLine better not complain about lack of runs from here on, because they were given plenty of opportunities against a bad run defense and couldn't do anything. Better to win an ugly one than to lose it, but they'll need much better efforts from here on. We'll hope that some of the injured return next week or for sure after the bye. And that the rest of the squad shows up after their unscheduled vacation this week.

The Packers need to get Alex Green out of there, I've never seen a guy that falls down so much with little or no contact.

If you take away his one long run, he is averaging 2.4 YPC.

Now I know how the Bears must have felt with Curtis Enis.
