Nevertheless I agree with those of you saying the play calling was suspect. It was quite obvious the entire game they weren’t going to be able to run on Jacksonville, but there McCarthy went repeatedly calling 1st down runs and putting the passing game in quick holes. Then in the play right before the Crosby field goal miss, Cobb goes to the sideline for a breather. No Jordy, no Greg, no Randall… the most senile of NFL fans knows the Packers are running at this point. Jax stuffs it easily… Mason shanks the kick.

Does McCarthy feel bad about not running enough or something? Who cares if it’s everyone else’s blueprint in the league… it doesn’t have to be the Packers’. He has won 65% of his games by passing most of the time.

As a Packers fan I’d like them to be complete in all aspects of the game each week but that just isn’t going to happen. They did what they had to.

Now if the OL could only open a hole every few weeks I’d be happy. They aren’t getting anything going in run blocking.

And the play calling at the end of the game had me concerned. Why would McCarthy have been calling runs and passes form the 12 yd line up 8 points? I kept expecting a fumble or INT for TD because he was taking an unnecessary risk. I own’t even get into the Jags coach going for 2 points in the first half…… Dumb.

You might want to recheck that “easy schedule” garbage. Prior to yesterday’s game the Packers had the 3rd hardest strength of schedule so far this year. Their schedule is about to get a lot easier….much more so than the Vikings and Bears will be.

The play calling stunk. I have no idea what MM was doing today but it didn’t work. And his inability to adjust when stuff isn’t working continues to be an issue.

The Packers O Line were a flat out embarrassment. Every single guy on that O Line should be ashamed of how he played today. The way they’re (not)playing and practically standing around twiddling their thumbs while the opposition’s defense goes straight for the QB, Rodgers is gonna end up seriously injured and then this team will really know what screwed and struggling feels like.

While Cobb had a good game, he needs to realize that when your offense isn’t playing up to it’s potential, first downs are necessary. Instead of just getting an easy first down, he danced around trying to go for a home run.

That set of downs right there were the reason that Jacksonville was in it late.
