As Hurricane Sandy approaches the Northeast, teams headquartered from D.C. up to Boston may have a hard time getting home from their Sunday games.

None will have it harder than the Patriots, who are playing in London today.

Albert Breer of NFL Network reports that the Pats have multiple contingency plans in place, in the event that the storm derails their plan to return home on Monday. Because London’s Heathrow Airport closes at 11:00 p.m. local time, the Pats can’t beat the storm home.

And so Breer says that the Pats are prepared to stay until Tuesday, if necessary. But with the storm moving slowly, Tuesday easily could become Wednesday.
