Declaring a quarterback’s value by the number of Super Bowls won is about the most ridiculous assessment of someone’s abilities ever uttered. The quarterback is the highest profile position, but he stands or falls with 21 other players – and their coaches. A quarterback cannot compensate, but so much, for a poor defense as Manning proved for years in Indy. Another Manning, Archie, may have been the best to ever play the game, but he had 21 other players combined with coaching that may have affected his ability to win a Super Bowl.

Manning leads the league in passer rating (109), passes completed over 20 yards (33), and yards per attempt (8.2). He’s second in yards per game (301), and has thrown 17 tds vs 4 picks.

I’ll never understand how he did that throwing all those ducks with that noodle arm of his.

I hope after Manning retires, he can go into sportscasting.
I’ve never been a fan of his teams, but he has been a Blast to watch over the years–and he’s extremely well-spoken. He would be a Lot better than some we have now, IMO.

He’s not the same quarterback even though Denver is winning. The ball just does not have the same zip to it and it hasn’t gotten better as the season has progressed as some thought it would. Unfortunately it will eventually cost Denver in upcoming games.

The upcoming games where 1 team they play the rest of the year has a winning record?

Interesting how he points out how important preparing mentally is. I think he might be talking a little to his old QB…. Romo are you listening, it is not all about talent.. I think Brooking is making a point that some are not getting.

In what way exactly? Peyton’s arm strength has not slowed down his brain. If anything it’s made him study harder to compensate.

Peyton never had a rocket arm to begin with. He can make all the “necessary” throws, including deep balls like his bombs to Demaryius Thomas.

You sir are ill-informed or ignorant. Watch his highlights. You’ll see a dominant QB just starting to gel with his teammates.

He’s good enough already but is going to get better.

These are two ships passing in the night: It does not take a Football Scientist to understand that while physical skills may of course diminish with major surgeries, etc…Q.B.-I.Q may simultaneously increase, as in Peyton’s case.

I, for one, am shocked that Keith didn’t have any comments about the Broncos running up the score in the 4th quarter. I mean, the game was already out of hand when Manning threw that touchdown to Eric Decker, right?

I remember what happened last time he got vaginal about a team allegedly running up the score:

“I thought it was totally classless and disrespectful,” Brooking said. “This is the NFL, that’s not what this is about. I don’t think there’s a place for that … I was looking for Childress. I didn’t think it was right.”

Brooking has been a HUGE addition. Especially now that Joe Mays is done for the year.He’s not a pro bowler anymore but he’s a leader. Dawkins provided that leadership from the safety position in years past but this teams been missing that voice in the middle ever since Al Wilson departed.

Thumbs up for Al Wilson. So underrated.
