I predicted the Pats would be 6-2 at the midpoint… and that loss to Seattle was as bad as they get for me… Tom is right… we are what are record says we are…

5-3 last year… made the Super Bowl. I think they are a bit better this year, but so are some other teams. Their games against Houston and the 49ers at home late in the season will be telling. If they win both they will be favored to go back to the Super Bowl, if they lose both, they will be favoured to go out in the second round.

Regardless of who goes to the Super Bowl from the AFC, they will have their hands full with the NFC team. The NFC has become the better conference by a significant margin over the last 5 years. Until the 2007 super bowl the Patriots rarely lost to the NFC in the Brady era, now they were beat by Arizona and Seattle. The NFC has improved across the board.

The Seahawks bring it on themselves. All they had to do was admit the truth that they were gifted a game, and they could have at least maintained some measure of respect. It’s not like anyone expected them to forfeit that game or anything, but at least man up. But going from denial and rationalization to actually having the gall to say you should be 8-0 in a season when you were gifted a game by replacement refs? Yeah, this is officially my new least favorite team. Their demise will be a beautiful thing to behold.

He never said that they SHOULD be 8-0. Go back and re-read his comments. And the Hawks and their fans could give a rat’s ass if you like them or not. We don’t need you. You can like the Cowboys, Packers, Patriots, Steelers or whoever else is winning that you can jump on until they start losing. And reality will continue to show that they are 4-4. Accept it or not. It’s their record. Keep denying it all you want. Let me know when they change it to 3-5.

Uh…..no. Teams that “deserve” to win never leave it to one bad call by an official to change the W-L columns. Teams that “deserve” to win go up by enough points so a bad call makes no difference.

What a bunch of BS. For logically impaired, IF the refs make the final call correctly, GB wins and Hawks lose. Vast majority people (outside of Great Northwest) believe it was a bad call. Seattle really should be 3-5.

Brady and Manning (the elder bro) are the “statesmen” for QBs in the NFL today. They have been playing for a long, long time now and their team’s accomplishments
speak for themselves. It was such a treat to watch these 2 play the other week as matchups as great as this will not be happening too much longer.

Brady has the attitude of a proven winner that is not used to many losses. Carroll has the attitude of head cheerleader. He is trying to instill some confidence in his young team. He knows they are close and wants his players to try just a bit harder to turn those close losses into wins. Nothing wrong with either approach but I would prefer Brady’s.

Brady said earlier this month that his goal is, as always, to be the team that is happy with how the season went when it is all over. Counting losses as “almost wins” doesn’t get you closer to that mission.

Giving credit to the Giants, I think they proved that a mediocre team from Sept to November can win it all if they grow and improve as a team.

The Patriots are one game ahead of mediocre. I think they realize the time to peak is January, not October.

I don’t have a problem with “could be”, but “should be” is going too far.. And with the NBA starting tonight, they always say about every game comes down to the last 2 minutes. I like the “could be” more though when you win big and lose by a few points like the Pats have this season.

Every Seahawks fan gets called a whiner if they bring up being screwed in the biggest game of all(and yes confirmed by the ref that worked the game) yet we still have everyone and their brother saying that the Pack got screwed out of a victory because of 1 play in an early season game and we have to continue to hear about it on this site every day. Pats starting safeties are Steve Gregory and Patrick Chung. Gregory has missed 4 games (and counting) while Chung has missed 3 games (and counting). Both will be back.
Their current safeties have “no freakin’ clue” (and I agree) because they’re both rookies.

The Patriots have been a pretty horrible 4th quarter team this year on both sides of the ball and there is no getting around that. Those safeties have no freaking clue either. They need to run the table or beat everyone but SF to earn a buy. They will also need some help.
