Or a GM who uses a 2nd, 3rd and 5th round picks on an undersized FB in Jacob Hester and to compound the mistake gave up the 2nd and 5th round picks to the team that just knocked you out of the playoffs the last two years??? AJ Smith is the most OVERRATED GM in the entire NFL! Not to mention gave Meachem 27 million because he didn’t resign Jackson three years ago to a 5 year deal when it would have been affordable? the list of mistakes could go on and on.

Norv Turnover and AJ need to go. Clean house with the entire coaching staff as well. The mediorce mentality has got to go. Six years ago, the Chargers were the scariest team in the league. Went 14-2 only to suffer the Mission Valley Meltdown and made every mistake in a game possible to make and still only lost by three points.
Bring in a new general manager and clone a Harbaugh or someone else with some vision. No Head Coaches that I have heard of have gone from one team that won a superbowl to a basket case team (like my beloved Chargers) and made them contenders.
Its time to bring in some new blood!

I would note Marty isn’t exactly in high demand. He went from 14-2 with the Chargers to the Virginia Destroyers, where they stiffed him.

When you do, just remember when Raiders come to play the Chargers (or what ever new name like maybe Pink Pigs) in LA, it will be a home game for the Raiders. Norv is the one that is getting screwed and AJ and the Owners are the pigs doing it.

Smith you have to an able boot-licker. Schottenheimer was an excellent HC but wouldn’t go along with this requirement so Smith convinced the Chargers’ owner to fire him. On the other hand, “Norv” has this skill down to perfection and Smith would find it very difficult to replicate in someone who had ANY real HCing ability.

That’s why an egomaniac like Smith NEEDS Turner despite the latter’s proven incompetence as a HC.

Smith and Turner are joined at the hip. If Smith wanted to save his job, he’d have tossed Turner at the end of 2010 or certainly 2011 when everyone in San Diego except Philip Rivers and Dean Spanos wanted Norv fired. I would put money on Smith being fired before Turner.

They will either both stay or go at the end of the season, when there are more GMs and coaches available (Andy Reid’s next stop might be SD).
