I’m surprised they kept him. He still has the legal proceedings to contend with, so I don’t see him playing anytime soon.

D. Stallworth got a second chance, and made the best he could of it. Hopefully this kid figures it out before he kills someone or himself.

He screwed up, everyone has made dumb mistakes in their lives. This kid is no different. I’m sure the team has let him know if he makes any more problems for himself or the franchise he is out the door.

I would have loved to see the Steelers leave him suspended pending the outcome of his case. If he’s found guilty, I hope they cut him. Sorry, this isn’t a “first mistake” – this is 15 mistakes all rolled up into one. Any ONE of the offenses I could almost see cutting him some slack, but given the gravity of some of the crap he pulled and the fact the he apparently kept doubling-down on bad decisions… if found guilty of more than 3 of the charges, send him packing.

Sorry, but mature responsible adult behavior is not a function of how much money one makes. It is a function of maturity and that results from TIME living life. The guy is 21 or so. Try to reflect back to your own stupid mistakes before you were MATURE. We all had them.

That being said, all the charges were from one terrible incident and I hope he learns from that like Ben obviously has.

You know who else was scared?

All the people seeing an SUV fly the wrong way up Carson St with a drunk lunatic trying to run down cops.

For anyone not in Pittsburgh & doesn’t know, Carson is a big time party corridor, and it’s always packed on weekends. Ta’amu easily could have killed someone.

Gosh, the Steelers would’ve had to suspend him a whole week for something like that…….

I don’t condone that kind of behavior from a professional athlete or even from anyone. But to hear the Steelers did this, I admire that organization for giving the boy a second chance.

The Steelers have traditionally stood behind most players after the first screw up. However Ta’amu should realize that he’s on a short leash. Santonio Holmes, Cedric Wilson, Eric Green, and Bam Morris were jetisoned after repeated behavior problems.
