Getty ImagesWhile it was hard to top his last game of September, Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake was named AFC defensive player of the month for October.
Wake had 3.0 sacks in three games in October, giving him 7.5 for the season, after his 4.5-sack outburst on Sept. 30 against the Cardinals.
Wake’s consistent output has coincided with the Dolphins looking more legitimate than many expected this season.
They knew they were going to have to count on their defense while rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill established himself, and they’ve done just that.

The pressure Wake brings on opposing quarterbacks is a lot more diversified than just sacks.
Cameron Wake = BEAST!
The Dolphins are building through the draft and CFL pickups(Wake, Thigpen..)…they need to stay on that path
Cam is leaving players in his “Wake”.
Love when he “unleashes the animal” post-sack.
Big midseason game in Indy this week. Winner gives themselves an inside track to a wild-card birth.
Chandler Jones has better stats and he is a rookie.

– i had to create a wordpress account just so i could educate you. Wake’s 48 total pressures are by far the most in the league per pro football focus, and while chandler’s been good he is a ways back at 31.
Good for a guy who does not get recognized a whole lot.

That’s great if just the pressure is effective. Who decides that? Chandler’s 3 Forced fumbles and 2 passes deflected to 0, 0, for Wake is far more concrete.
A Patriots fan claiming anything about their defense is irony personified. Chandler Jones is a very good player, Cameron Wake is a Pro Bowler. Big difference.
I guess they didn’t let JJ Watt win the monthly AFC defensive player for the second time this season…
I guess because the Fins are ranked one postion above the Pats in total defense you can talk about irony. Our defense palyed in the Superbowl last year while yours watched on TV. That’s not irony, that’s reality.

I guess that defense has won you how many championships in the past two trips to the Superbowl? Post Spygate the Pats haven’t been the same…coincidence? Team had to bend the rules to win their championships a la tuck rule and videotaping the other teams. Your Superbowl wins are as legitimate as Barry Bonds’ homerun record
