Your ‘Quitler’ pun is getting old…Everyone but you knows Jay didn’t quit on the team…And the offense is fine…Three Cutler-to-Marshall TDs today, three Gould FGs, and Forte went over 100 yards with a TD. And before you whine it was only against TN, remember that had the offense simply ‘managed the game,’ you’d say they should have dominated.

Are you even watching Bears games this year?

What do you expect? For him to be out there flying around like some 20-year old converted free safety again? You want to see the Defensive MVP of the League again?

Wake up.

He missed training camp AND pre-season, and is rehabbing a knee — with each game he’s gotten noticeably better, faster to the ball, making more of an impact in the game. Closing gaps, excellent coverage in the middle of the field, getting off blocks, defending and tipping passes…

That second Pick-6 of Briggs’ this year? Go back and watch that tape — that was ALL Urlacher, all the way — watch him separate the receiver from the ball on that play.

No one is immune to the effects of age, but where Urlacher loses a step in his speed, sideline to sideline or otherwise, he MORE than makes up for it with his mere presence, his veteran instincts and savvy, leadership, reading offenses and calling out plays and coverages, motivating and holding team mates accountable, etc.

Even at 85 or 90%, Urlacher is still better than 90% of the other players at his position.

I agree with the rest of your comment, but in regard to the part about Urlacher – either you haven’t been paying attention over the last few games, you have some bias against Urlacher, or you just don’t know football.

Urlacher is terrible, I’m being nice when I say he’s average, but he’s done. Lance Briggs is playing is rear off and should be a candidate for defensive player of the year. As should Tillman, who is the best corner in the league by far, no one is close, even a healthy Revis.

Think of it this way, if Tillman played on the east coast or for the Cowboys he would be a household name.

Now if the Bears D can shut down Aaron Rodgers and Packers, then the division will be won. Tough task though. Despite my loathing of the cheeseheads, they have a really tough team.

Tough tests ahead with Houston and 49ers. Should be fun.
