Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola was an unexpected game-time decision for the Rams’ Week Eight game against the Patriots, but he said Wednesday that there won’t be any suspense when the team returns from the bye in Week 10.

Amendola said that he has full range of motion and strength in his injured collarbone a month after getting hurt in a Thursday night game against the Cardinals. Amendola practiced before last week’s game and was listed as questionable before the Rams opted to sit him for a third straight game. That’s a considerably faster timeline than originally anticipated and Amendola left no doubt about his status for the next Rams game.

“Yeah, absolutely,” Amendola said, via the Associated Press. “I’m ready to come back and I’m ready to do what I can.”

Amendola will wear a special pad to protect the injured area. There’s no such pad to help speed left tackle Rodger Saffold’s return from a sprained MCL, although Saffold is holding out hope that he will also be able to return after the bye. He said that the process has a mental aspect in addition to the physical one.

“You have to have a lot of confidence, especially after you do something to your knee. It’s not an easy task to have a knee injury and be able to come back and play the way that you want to,” Saffold said. “They’ve been constantly working on me little by little so I keep having confidence in my knee.”

The Rams return to action against the 49ers and, at 3-5, it’s a game they really need to keep their playoff hopes alive.
