I am a huge Peyton Manning fan but if you pause and think about it for a moment, looking at his recent performances, the Colts couldn’t afford to miss out on a guy like Andrew Luck. Just read the SI(or maybe it was CBS) story about Manning’s rehab. There was no guarantee of how things were going to be for him.

I couldn’t be more happy for Peyton. I will always be his biggest fan and will route for Denver as long as it doesn’t hurt the Colts. It’s amazing how a guy his age can come back and not miss a beat after four neck surgeries! Good Luck the rest of the way Peyton! —Huge Colts fan

What an incredible story. There’s really no way to explain how a guy who is 36 years old and coming off a potential career-ending injury could be performing at career-record levels.

Maybe Manning is right that he’s not “back” all the way — perhaps having an actual running game, a solid defense, and big WRs who rack up YAC are allowing him to put up better numbers than he did in Indy.
