The stupid Chargers will wind up in the post season as a wild card (or worse the AFC Championship) and nothing will come of Norv’s pink slip dilemma. Not the die hard fans of the game, but the fair-weather fans that dont follow the team will spend the next year deficating from the mouth about how they almost went back to the Superbowl.. All in all, this is a total non story about a non-threating football team. Beg Gruden to come outta retirement so you can witness what a SB coach can do to a team with some potential.

Norv had some early success (with what was still Marty’s team with Tomlinson and a few others in their prime). But, the team has gotten progressively worse in terms of player talent, coaching, preparation, etc and they’re looking at three straight years out of the playoffs if they continue down the path they’re on.

The NFL is the entertainment business and ownership is offering a product that the community is now apathetic about. Not good unless they’re moving the team and they just don’t care.
