Browns activate Phil Taylor

As the new Browns prepare to welcome the old Browns back to town, nearly 17 years to the day after the old Browns announced they’d be moving to Baltimore, the new Browns will be welcoming one of their key players back into the fold.

Defensive lineman Phil Taylor has been activated from the reserve/physically unable to perform list.

Taylor, a first-round pick in 2011, suffered a torn pectoral during the offseason training program.  His return has been anticipated by the Browns.

His attitude could help spark the 2-6 team toward an upset.  Asked this week about Ravens running back Ray Rice, Taylor said, “He’s a name, we have Trent Richardson, I don’t care.”

If Cleveland wins on Sunday, teams in the AFC had better start caring about the Browns.

They activiated Phil by taking away his headphones, shutting off his computer, and terminating his meal card at the cafeteria.

Ray Rice is just a name, right, a name that regularly dominates the Browns. Last year, he dropped 200 on the Stains at the Mistake.

Phil makes a big difference in the run d, even if he only gets in there for 15 snaps. Now our biggest handicap is the man calling the plays…
