@phreakin, A legit QB has something to show for, Romo only has one, ONE playoff win, nothing else, that’s it! You can ride on his jock strap all you want but when the years go by and Romo decides to retire, he’s gonna alway be known has the QB who couldn’t.

All of you armchair quarterbacks need to look at some of the other teams in the league and their searches for qualified QB’s. Really, better than most teams? Really? I could think of 20 QBs I would rather have than Romo. He’s not even a top 10 QB. Look at his resume, what has he done for dallas lately? He’s already in his 30s and he’s not getting any better than what he is now. We hear this crap but year after year about Romo being great, Romo is going have a breakout year, Romo is the best QB in the East. Guess what, Romo is just the same ol Romo, pick machine and choker.

Seriously though, since Romo took over in 2006, his record against the Redskins is 6-5.

Also “owned” is an overly strong word there. To both teams’ credit, they excel at keeping the rivalry alive: no matter how good or bad one or the other are, or happen to be playing that day, in that eleven game span, there have only been two games decided by more than one score: a 27-6 Redskins triumph and a 17-0 Cowboys shutout.

Romo has his share of dumb plays but he’s the best the Jerryboys have unless they tank the season and can draft high. Maybe they can make a trade on draft day with Ware or Murray and move up. I say sign him now and groom a prospect while they can. It doesn’t matter who they have under center while Jerry runs the show.

So what if Romo’s better than alot of QBs out there. Nobody’s saying he’s not. What’s he ever done for the Cowboys? no! Really? What? Heck, they’ve only won the division twice. After this year, Alex Smith will have done that. Oh, and Smith has exactly as many playoff wins as Romo so how good is he, really? Romo hasn’t gotten them to the Super Bowl, NFC Championship…nothing. What he has done is single handedly cost them games that may have gottem them somehwat closer.

Good thinking except, even now with the stock being low, he’ll command a large signing bonus and with the cap hits that would ensue he’d be virtually untradeable.
Better to trade him now for a 1st round pick and package this one with their own to get into top 2 or 3 to get a premier passer.

Actually, there’s plenty of accountability with the Cowboys. Every time things go wrong (which is every season), Jerry holds somebody accountable. That it’s almost always someone not responsible is another issue. That the accountable person is ultimately Jerry the GM is the problem.

I’ve talked contract extension with some underperforming employees too. Doesn’t mean they are gonna get it either lol. Now with that said Romo isn’t the problem.. Yes he isn’t always clutch but there is a certain QB in the league with one ring and a spotty postseason win-loss record that is regarded one of the best ever. Now this obviously isn’t Romo, but you give him a Jim Harbaugh, Mike McCarthy, Sean Payton or a few other coaches and the smack talk would end. He simply isn’t put in good situations enough and that starts at the very top and heads downhill like a locomotive that’s lost its air brakes

Only trade 5 or 6 for romo….. really? Sooo Peyton, Brady, Bree’s, Eli, Big Ben, schuab, cutler, luck, newton, rg3, Rodgers,stafford, Matt Ryan and Andrew dalton. There’s an easy 13 qbs that are either already better or have more potential than romo. He’s a sub par qb surrounded with talent, and is still 24th in passer rating, behind guys like hasselbeck, Wilson, Bradford, flacco, Palmer, ponder, and Fitzpatrick. You gotta stop listening to John elway so much man.
