The Raiders sold out every game for 14 straight years before they moved to L.A.

When they came back, they had a preposterous Personal Seat License system — not only were the PSL prices exorbitant, they were good for just 11 years. Ridiculous.

Beyond that, a considerable % of Raiders fans are blue-collar folks. They were simply priced out of a market where ticket value (including prorated PSL fee) exceeded $150 per game in almost every case.

That is the ONLY reason there were so many blackouts. It took at least a half-dozen years for the team to take market forces into account and lower ticket prices. Now you can get nosebleed seats for $260 per SEASON, and attendance has predictably rebounded over the last year and a half, despite mediocre performance.

I think they sell out their last 4 home games. Chiefs r a huge rival as are the broncos, saints are fun to watch, browns have fans everywhere( crazy as it sounds).
Raiders are a good team. Good young head coach. I could see them making a run for the playoffs….Lay off the Black Hole, other teams have trouble selling out too..SD, Jack, Buff sometimes, KC very soon, MINN, etc…Raiders have great fans like every other team does, yes, some are insane..who cares, as long as they r behaving themselves let them have fun

Oakland isn’t the worst team in the league. As of now, KC is the undisputed “winner” of that title. However, typical of the Pioli regime, I expect them to mess that up, too.

As a former Raider season ticket holder, I can promise you the trouble filling the place has less to do with the price of tickets than it does the fact that the stadium is a dump, the cheapest parking is $30.00 in a mud lot a mile away, and the place is full of the people the team started marketing to when they moved to LA… Ignorant, loud, obnoxious, drunken scumbags.

Not all of them, just the ones that you notice the most.

They chose the market they wanted, but there aren’t enough of them for steady 100% sellouts.
There are tons of fans who would love to hold season tickets but won’t. For that exact reason.

Parking is $30, and that’s an issue – but I’ve always parked at the stadium lots. If I was parking a mile away, I certainly wouldn’t pay $30 for it. The best deal is to take the subway (BART), train (Amtrak) or shuttle in. When I lived up there, taking the subway in was ~$3 round trip. No need to worry about a designated driver.

It seems like every game you see some hooligans that have saved up all their money to come get wasted and be loud and rude at their one game a year – but in my experience they are by far and few the minority. The guys I sit with are all working professionals – engineers, accountants, businessmen, office workers.

Nobody wants to sit up on Mount Davis, that’s for sure. That $30 mud lot…isn’t that Candlestick parking? I’ve been to games in L.A. and Seattle and SF, and there are ALWAYS Ignorant, loud, obnoxious, drunken scumbags in various concentrations throughout the stadiums. A lot of people have 50″ HDTV’s and the NFL ticket, they’d rather stay at home than buy $* beers and $10 garlic fries. The Raiders are doing various promotions to make things more interesting for people coming to games, and they sell out now that the Raiders handle ticket sales. So you haters can kick rocks.

The tickets are very affordable. You can get a season ticket (all 8 games, plus 2 preseason) for $260 bucks. Total. The entire season for $260. The most expensive seat in the house is $1510 for the season. You also get all sorts of promotional stuff for being a season ticket holder. Last year, I got two extra seats on the 50 yard line as a gift and $50 Raider Image gift card. If you can’t afford to go to the game, you probably can’t afford to pay a cable bill either.
