I just got back from Toms River a few hours ago. My fire department had gone down to cover those guys so they could go home, see their families, and assess the damages to their own homes. And quite honestly, the last 36 hours meant more than any donation could. However, that being said, not all are afforded that opportunity. For some scumbag like yourself to put something like this together, just let it be known, there is a time and place to let your bitterness be known, and this isn’t it. There is more to life than football. Enjoy your flip flops while the rest of us dig out from the second largest storm in our nation’s history (financially), and I shall see you in hell someday.

Looking at your franchise over the years in SD, I think most of us would agree that he made the right choice. If you’re keeping score, and it sounds like you are, he’s up 2-0.

Thank you! We’ve done the math in the past when Irsay has his PR team (that earns well over $100,000) issue press releases heralding his $10,000 donations.

Those of us donating $20, $50, $100 are setting an example that we can only hope these multi-billionaires would follow OUR example and give something more than their pocket change – and none of us are issuing press releases to pat ourselves on our backs.

But as long as people applaud them for giving a few coins and pocket lint, they’ll just continue to appease the masses with these embarrassingly low donations.

Lots of people who could use a can of soup or anything to eat right now as everything they owned is gone.
Not just rich people with there beach houses but people who work for a living just like we do.

After getting married in Mexico last year, the Mannings have not remained idle, becoming New York’s newest philanthropic couple. Giant’s Quarterback, Eli Manning, and his wife, Abby Manning, are donating funds to St. Vincent’s Hospital new birthing center.
The state-of-the-art facility is going to focus on childbirth and holistic care, including such amenities as acupuncture. The Mannings have been heavily involved in St. Vincent’s, boosting morale and visiting patients throughout the hospital.
Though is has not yet been revealed how much they donated, the amount is enough to start the $10 million project, which is scheduled to take five years to complete, starting with the refurbishment of the current maternity ward.

The new center, aptly named The Eli and Abby Manning Birthing Center, will be located in a separate space connect to the new St. Vincent’s across, with patient rooms, postpartum suites and waiting areas

This would be moronic even if NYC was the only place affected. But, actually, the damage is extensive and covers 11 states. 9 dead in Pennsylvania and we all know how much oceanfront property they have. NYC can take care of itself. We managed to pick up after 9/11 even though the federal money promised by Bush never came. Fortunately, many volunteers came from out state to help at ground zero and beyond. Much thanks to all of you. You’re the best the Nation has to offer. Whereas the garbage posting on this story are some of the worse.

My sister lost half her house to the storm. She’s 60 miles from the coast. She’s insured, so she’s okay. Not looking for any sympathy or help. We got it covered. But for you to act like all this storm did was affect a few millionaire’s beach houses shows you’re one sad and pathetically ignorant assclown. If you love your country, don’t breed. The sooner we are rid of your gene pool, the better off we will all be.

Hey – if I were to follow the “example” of billionaire NFL owners I’d donate $2.

They should be following MY lead and making donations that equate to more than just pocket change for them.

Do the math yourself comparing donations of folks making $50,000 compared to a guy who is worth $1.5 BILLION and could sell one book in his library and donate $2.3 million to this cause.

I think it’s a perfectly reasonable question. I don’t know whether or what they’ve given, but if they’re going to ask for more of our money (they’ve already gotten far more than they could ever earn in any real line of work), then I think they should tell us what they’ve given so that we can see that they’re putting their money where their mouth is.
