The big buzz coming into Sunday’s game between the Colts and the Dolphins dealt with the rookie quarterbacks starting for each team and they have both come through with fine performances.

Andrew Luck’s been a little bit finer than Ryan Tannehill, though. In terms of passing yardage, he’s been finer than any other rookie quarterback in history. Luck has thrown for 433 yards with just under six minutes to play in the fourth quarter, breaking the record Cam Newton set during his rookie season in 2011.

Luck has made a lot of huge throws to put the Colts in the lead 23-20 at this juncture, but he got the record on a two-yard flip to tight end Dwayne Allen. It was an impressive bit of sack avoidance by Luck to get the ball to Allen, who helped set up Adam Vinatieri for a go-ahead field goal.

Peyton Manning has the Colts’ franchise record for single game passing yardage with 472. That could be at risk if this one heads to overtime.
