Chuck Pagano to attend Colts game, return to hospital Monday

The Colts' Chuck Pagano talks on his head set during an NFL football game in Indianapolis, Indiana. Reuters

Colts coach Chuck Pagano has been away from the team since he was diagnosed with leukemia a month ago, but he’ll be with the team today.

Pagano plans to attend today’s Colts game and give his players a pregame speech, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports.

That’s good news for Pagano and his team, although he still has a long road to recovery ahead of him: Pagano will return to the hospital on Monday and begin another course of chemotherapy. And Pagano is not expected to resume his full coaching duties at any time this season.

So during a very tough time for Pagano, today’s game will be a welcome reprieve.
