xmenot12, what all of you are missing is the fact that the parents in this part of the country don’t NAME their children “T-Bob” or T-Jim, etc. They name them Robert M. Hebert, Jr. or James B. Boudreax Jr.

Then, instead of calling them Bobby Jr, or Jim Jr., they call them t-Bob or t-Jim or whatever, short for “petit Bob”. It’s a nickname folks, pure and simple.

And yes, he’s an idiot and an embarrasment to most of us but his heart is in the right place.

In Louisiana, “T” before a name, in Cajun culture, means smaller, younger, etc. It’s sometimes used instead of “Jr.”, which is the case here. Essentially, it’s a contraction of “petit”. Fuglyflorio, I’m afraid your assessment is accurate. You can Youtube Bobby Hebert Saints Jets, and you’ll see him in a clip from 2009 making an azz of himself during the home game that season againts NYJ. He does like to have an occasional beverage, it seems.

“T-Bob” is short for “Petite Bob” or “Little Bob”

It is a common thing in Louisiana, especially south Louisiana.
