I could not agree with you more.
I’ve been around for all eight Super Bowl appearances, and for all six Super Bowl wins, and I truly believe that only one Steelers player from the past two Super Bowl wins could’ve cracked the 1970s Steelers’ starting lineup: Troy Polamalu.
Let’s be honest, beating the generic ’05 Seahawks and the ’08 Cardinals simply isn’t the same as beating the talent-ladden ’75 and ’78 Cowboys…

As I am sure none of you were at the game the game did give all of us who were there something very important.

An escape from what is going on at home.

It was great to see my football family the people we tailgate with the people we sit next to and around who are from all over the tristate area.

To know they are safe and doing well after the worst storm to hit the northeast in our lifetime.

I saw giant fans bring bags and boxes of food for the NJ Food Drive held at the game.
I talked to a young couple who lost everything but came to the game to escape the mess.

When TC says neighbors this strom hit NJ NY and Conn.
Tom lives in NJ so he knows where he is.

The down side of the day is the loss and hearing those pitt fans run there pieholes

The up side is as long as NO wins tonight the NFC stays unchanged.

The East Coast will rise from the waste Sandy left behind and the Giants will rise from the loss.
Why because we are Jersey Strong!!!!!

Without that Boley fumble return in the 2nd for a TD, this game could have been ugly. Stuffed at home. Lousy.

I have no doubts that the Giants were distracted and probably unprepared after a week from hell, but the Steelers had three factions to overcome: Injuries to key players, one-sided officiating and lousy coaching by Tomlin, who had no problem of possibily having his placekicker crippled on an ill-advised fake field goal attempt…
The Steelers showed character and the heart of a champion in the win.

Your pedestal is made of sand so climb down before you hurt yourself. The Noll era Steelers deserves great respect but no franchise was ever as dominant as the Walsh era 49ers during their 5 sb run.

It is insulting to the Noll era Steelers that the present day Steelers are included with that elite group. The attitudes, character and behaviour of some of today’s Steelers would not have been tolerated by Chuck Noll’s teams.

Regarding the comment made by “mrplow3,” he’s right, the Giants and Jets don’t play in NY, they play in NJ… NJ is their homeland, not their neighbor, so I understand the comment… And so what if he was wearing a hat that said “NJ” on it (which I appreciated)? Doesn’t change the statement he made referring to NJ as his “neighbor” when the entire team has never played one home game in NY… Both the Jets and Giants should just rename themselves the NJ Jets/Giants… Is there any other team in the NFL who has a stadium in a neighboring state? Has always seemed ridiculous to me…

This game is one reason I cannot call Eli elite. No elite QB is 12/25 or whatever he was. That’s Flaccodelic. He often has these types of games where he’s pure awful for the better part of 3 qtrs. Every QB has a few of those, but it’s common for him. If I needed a W in the 4th Q he’d probably be my choice, but he’s simply even now not consistent enough to be called elite. Clutch, yes, consistent, no.

Ninja will you give it a rest already. Do the G-men get calls from the refs yes they do just like every other team that plays. There are missed and blown calls in every game for every team. These refs are no better then the replacements they are just not as scrutinized as they were.

This article is right on point. This was just a football game, if there is any point during the season where we should have things in their proper perspective, its after a storm like this. It’s a game tom, a lot of people have bigger concerns right now than the giants winning or losing, wow.

After watching the game I would say the Steelers did. With so many starters out and then their big receiver hurt and down to rookie running back they still came back and knocked off the Suber Bowl Champs. You are never out! Keep your heads up all in Sandy’s way we all have you in our thoughts.
