If the Titans can't put together a string of wins its time for Munchak, Gray and Palmer all to go.
I didn't like the hires to begin with. Munchak is a nice guy but he had never had head coaching experience let alone coordinator experience. He doesnt seem to make game time adjustments and worse, week to week adjustments.
Gray's defense is giving is giving up 34 points a game!! And he never makes adjusments, playing our secondary back, hardly blitzing, etc.
Our offense is hardly better, ranking in the bottom 10 in pts per game and Yardage per game. Palmer was hired from the UFL & has tried to implement a complex offense that he refuses to adjust in light of our inept ball movement.

If Adams wants to win he needs to dole out the cash to a legitimate winning coach.(And some good FA's to boot, S, OL, to start) Having a great coach is a huge component to winning. And for all those Fisher admirers... he didnt win either. Coached 17 years and did not have a winning record 11 times!! If anything Fisher was a mediocre coach... he did have five 8-8 years.

Crazy though he may seem, at least Bud acknowledges the problem. People that don't watch the games are quick to jump to "wow, that defense totally sucks". This team does have some great young talent, especially on defense. Griffin was a pro bowler, Casey and Klug at DT, Ayers, McCarthy, and Brown at LB. All with tremendous potential, they evidently just aren't being coached right. Giving up 15+ yards every pass play is ridiculous.

People time to stop blaming Vince Young for the Titans problems, that team couldn't get it done with Air McNair. If they would have drafted Matt Leniart and the results would have been the same. The problem was the coaching not the players. Jeff Fisher is doing the same thing with the Rams. Now, I'm hearing Sam Bradford is soft, please if Jim Harbough can turn Alex Smith around into a winning quarterback with only one year coaching in the NFL no excuses for Jeff Fisher. Bud Adams needs to open the pocket book hire an established winning coach, the problem would be solved.

As a Titans fan it's nice to see him come out and acknowledge how bad this FO has been. Nothing against Munchak, nice guy, but just isn't getting it done. His worst decisions have been in selecting assistants and somehow letting the o-line (which was his entire life's work) go so bad, so fast.

Will be interesting to see what happens. Hasselbeck is probably the best chance to win games now and save his keester, but Locker needs to play as well. If Reinfeldt and the GM go, HC/OC/DC & QB likely follow.

@ Jesse James 182 - when Bud Adams had the teams the Oilers in Houston, the city was uncooperative at the time with assisting Bud Adams in getting a new stadium from the old Astro dome, there were few options available when the lease was up for the Astro dome, so Mr. Adams chose to move the team to Nashville, as that city was willing to build a state of the art facility. The Houston Texans came a long later, and the city of Houston without a team was more willing then to build a new stadium. The Houston Texans have been losers every year until the past 2 years, when former Houston Oilers coach Bum Phillips' son Wade Philips came along as defensive coordinator, helping the team finally have a winning record, but the jury is still out on how this years version of the Houston Texans' finishes the year.

The Tennessee Titans will overhaul their coaching staff after this year, as their inexperienced head coach Munchak, old time O-coordinator Palmer who came from the UFL Hartford Colonials and their inexperienced defensive coordinator Jerry Gray all have to go. The players technique is lacking on the Titans and when they play physical teams they get run over because the Titans are too finesse.

msclemons67 says:Nov 5, 2012 1:21 AM

Sometimes a team gets into a funk and the only solution is to clean out the front office. After 15 years of Fisher I’d imagine there are a lot of complacent folks sitting in cubicles.

Note: I like Fisher as a coach, but in a job as intense as the NFL folks probably lose their edge after 10 years or so.
------------

I would suggest the opposite actually. Bud Adams has always struck me as impulsive-sometimes it works out but more than often it does not. Fisher on the other hand in most cases looks to be calm, cool, and collected. Kind of a balance there between the owner and the coach.

Letting Fisher go and then just bringing in Munchak was kind of a "meh" kind of move and didn't exactly fire up the fanbase.

One thing is for certain though, unless Tennessee finds a way to keep Jake Locker healthy for more than a half, they could be looking at having to reboot at the QB position soon. If I remember correctly Hasselbacks deal was only a two year contract and I have not seen anything out of Locker yet that proves he is the long term solution.
