Goodell has been the worse thing to hit the league since, well ever.

Dictates rules and punishments even when there are none (see Skins & Boys cap penalties for the “uncapped” year). Shows no respect to players or coaches and their contributions to the game.

The guy asks like an arrogant attorney……..oh wait!?

How about an apology for the game that started four hours prior!?
What a joke. Goodell was at the game, yet still turns a blind eye.
I guess the Steelers have been dubbed villians in the new WWNFL.
I wonder what story lines will play out next week!

To bad the announcers and every talk show did not keep slaming the REAL refs as they did the REPLACEMENTS. I watched a few games where the game was held up not making a call and the Giant game well enough said.. Lets fine these refs as they do the players.

We can agree to disagree. It’s a touchdown in the books I’m not going to argue it anymore. I’ll watch it again to be fair but it’s not going to change anything.

I was at the game , worst NFL game Ive been to. The teams stunk along with the refs, $9.00 a beer isnt gonna cut it much longer to watch these so called professional athletes and refs.

it was played out just like a flag being picked up. The ref didn’t mean to blow the whistle. Deangelo was nowhere close to being out of bounds.

You need to watch the video again. Go google it. Riley easily would have tackled him/knocked out of bounds. And you have to make some assumptions about where people would have been because everyone stopped except the RB. He knew he wasn’t out of bounds, but no one else did.

Whether or not he ever stepped out of bounds is not the issue here.

A whistle was blown, the play was dead at that spot, the defenders stopped pursuing. Especially since the league is so hyped up about “player safety” you can bet the defenders stopped when they heard the whistle, not wanting to get flagged for a late hit.

Also, that crew in the Steelers-Giants game was so poor as to be laughable. The phantom DPI call, the botched forward pass/fumble, I could go on… Where are the fines/suspensions for train wrecks like those?

This is like argueing with an extreme liberal. Are you honestly going to sit there and say the td shouldn’t count because a bad call didn’t take away an obvious td? The defender would not have caught him, NO WAY.

And yes, someone please explain how we get a delay of game penalty when the ref is literally blocking the center from snapping the ball.

Bring back the replacements. The regular refs are awful with their blown calls in addition to their PI calls on every other play. The replacement officials let the players play more and it was more exciting, now after every incompletion you have to wait until 5 seconds before you can exhale since you don’t know if they’ll decide this is the play to flag or not. These union slob regular refs are awful.

Google it. Rule #7 part 2 section N. It takes two seconds to google it. Officials completely screwed it up.

Pretty sad when the calls are so awful in a game that non-steelers fans go to a non-steelers post to complain about poor referee calls that went against the steelers. The NFL will only apologize to Mara and the Giants for falling short of their intended result.

Did any of you actually see that play? That was a willaims td no matter what whistle or no whistle. He wasn’t even close to stepping out of bounds. And there was a defender who had a shot at stopping him. In my mind it was the right call because he was scoring no matter what. It would of been b/s if they took away that td

They were lucky Carolina won….
