Maurice Jones-Drew won’t play this week, might play next week

Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew has already been ruled out for at least one more game, but his return may be in sight.

Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey said at his press conference today that Jones-Drew will not play on Thursday night against the Colts. However, Mularkey said he doesn’t think Jones-Drew’s season is over, and that he could return as soon as the Jaguars’ next game, on November 18 in Houston.

Jones-Drew has been out since suffering a foot injury in Week Seven against the Raiders. Rashad Jennings has struggled in Jones-Drew’s absence, with 50 carries for 148 yards in three games since Jones-Drew went down.

    From a Jag fan –

    Doesn’t matter.

    Jags 3, Colts 45.

At least 3 Jag players perish. At least one Jag coach weeps openly on the side line.

Jag leadership will follow up with comments about “staying the course.”

I remember everyone said Jennings was a great player and they won’t miss MJD?!?

Jones-Drew has been suffering a foot injury since he realized the Jaguar’s playoff hopes were gone, the trade deadline was coming up, and the likelyhood of his getting a new contract in Jacksonville was slim to none.

    From a Colts fan.

I hate playing the Jag’s. Throw out the record books when these 2 teams play. I only feel slightly better that MJD isn’t playing as for what ever reason the Colts will make someone on the Jag’s (usually somebody you have never heard of) look like All World. It looks like an easy win on paper but makes me nervous.
