Part of me says I’m wrong in my reaction, but I find the mental image of JJ pulling on the door, unable to get in and unable to get the attention of anyone inside, freaking hilarious.

I’m sure there are many Dallas fans who are saying, “He doesn’t listen to anyone, so the shoe’s on the other foot for once”.

You know this is funny in a not so funny sort of way. Say what you want about Jerry Jones he is a man that wants to win and win badly. But, I think he’s a awful GM because he looks at the team with his heart and not with his mind. I really feel bad for him. Now, there’s something else you might want to think about. Didn’t he just say that Jerry Jones the owner would have fired Jerry Jones the GM. I’m a Saints fan so that doesn’t sound too good to me. Could that be a orveture to SP. If he leaves the Saints he would want to have total control

Tom Landry was one of the game’s great innovators, with the flex defense, computer scouting, and assistants that excelled throughout the league for many years. Jerry’s disrespect for him alone was a travesty. He took over a team that wasn’t broken, and the fix broke it. He feuded publicly with Jimmy and crony from Oklahoma and generally made the Cowboys about drama rather than innovation and winning. The reason owners need GM’s is precisely BECAUSE they CAN be fired, while the owner cannot. It’s said he meddles because he cares, but at the end of the day he can console himself with the money no matter how much he breaks his toy. The lockout is too little too late. Nothing the brat does will surprise me.

I’m a cowboys fan and have been since I was little. Everyone but Jerry knows Jimmy Johnson won those 3 Super Bowls. Jerry the GM and ego maniac still isn’t smart enough to get out if his own way.

Add to this Garrett who can’t manage a clock with his Ivy League degree. Romo is reads his own headlines, and is like the goat for the cubs.

Bring in Orton and let’s see what happens. Nothing to lose at this point.

There are two things wrong with the Cowboys, Dallas will never win as long as Jason Garrett is coach and Tony Romo is quarterback! That is the two things wrong with the Cowboys!

They’ve gone through a lot of coaches and QBs in the last 15 years, but only one owner and GM. This leads me to believe that while Garrett is unqualified and incompetent, and while Romo is severely overrated, the root of the team’s problems isn’t them. Start with hiring a real GM, add leaving the owner out of player personnel decisions, rebuild the lines, and stop going for glamor all the time. Flashy and/or pretty may sell tickets, but grunt work wins titles.

As a Cowboys fan since Don Meredith was the quarterback, my only goal in life is to outlive Jerry.

The team he bought had 20 consecutive winning seasons and 1 coach. Now it seems like he’s had 1 winning season and 20 coaches since Jimmy Johnson quit.

I hope Jones was mad and angry about himself and the poor, poor job he has done as General Manager. Then his anger was justified. Until he fires himself as General Manager, obtains a competent GM to run the operation and stays out of his/her way, the Cowboys will never attain the heights they reached in by gone years.
