Locker looks a hell of alot better than the descending Cam Newton and the obviously limited Christian Ponder. He tore up Detroit, whom made Ponder and Newton look foolish. You’ll recall Detroit forced Newton into 4 picks a year ago. Hes a multi-dimensional QB that plays the game like a throw-back..not a diva. Hence..he gets no pub.

Last time we saw Locker under center, CJ was still averaging around 1.2 yards per carry and Kenny Britt was still struggling to get his legs back under him. (If you’ll recall, Locker led the Titans in rushing through the first three games…and Jake had only six rushing attempts).

I’m sure TE Jared Cook will be excited to see Jake, as well. Cook’s two most productive outings this year came in weeks one and three, when Jake was under center.

I’m excited to see how Jake performs now that he can (hopefully) rely on his supporting cast to make contributions of their own, instead of being forced to play Superman and singlehandedly carry the offense by himself week after week.

If nothing else, it gives Titans fans reason to be excited and optimistic….and after last week’s laugher, we need all the excitement and optimism we can muster.

The Titans really need to go with Locker, he needs to play. The Titans would be wise to always have a good backup QB on board given Locker’s style of play & propensity to be injured. That said, is Matthew Hasselbeck the best backup QB in the NFL ? Lets not judge him based on Tenn’s W&L’s, they are just flat out awful.
