Haven’t noticed what? You mean the 3 touchdowns he just threw last game (including one flawless 40 yard laser-bomb beauty?)
_______________

I didn't get to see the game, but I do recall the Lions have red zone hiccups a few weeks ago where they could have beat the Bears and thier Baker's dozen of points.

Being tied vs. jacksonville at halftime til thier defense bailed them out later on.

Romo playing so bad for Dallas he got benched in fourth.

The Bears do good every handful of years when they have a softer schedule and then Lovie gets to hang around and slip back to the middle of the NFC.

A win is a win, but don't act like you guys should be crowned all ready.

I think you might be right about the Bears ending up with 6 loses.. Between this year and next!!! 14-2 this year and 12-4 next year, yeah that makes 6 loses.

Two rings in the next 4 seasons for the Bears!!!!

Doesn't matter what anyone says, Some Packer fans will never give the Bears props because those fans are classless. The Bears have beaten teams that aren't as good as the Bears. That's what good teams are supposed to do. Even if the Bears won the SB Packer fans would still be talking about how bad the Bears suck. Basically, Those classless fans (and I'm not talking about all Packer fans) just won't give a good team props because they are the Bears, which make your words completely insignificant in any football conversation.

Bears should feel VERY fortunate that they can give him an extension now.
A) Cutler realistically will not get elite qb money.
     - He hasn't put up elite stats, and with the way he carries himself he has no way to leverage the Bears against any other team in the league. Nobody will pay him elite(YET!)

B) When the Bears put an above average lineman or three in front of him(starting next off-season I believe) . Jay Cutler will put together some very elite stats and the people will love him. Cutler will put it all together over the course of the next two seasons and it could get scary how good he is.

The Bears would be foolish not to lock him up THIS off-season.

I hate all these people saying that the defense is completely responsible for the wins. When cutler was hurt last year, how did the bears do? the defense was doing just fine up to that point, and even did pretty good beyond that point. But 7-3 with cutler, 1-5 without.

Football is a team game, and it takes a whole team to win. Without cutler the bears aren't nearly as good, and with him they're fighting for the playoffs each year.

Cutler is the best QB they have had in a years, but I mean come on, he had to be better than Rex Grossman, Cade McCown, Kordell Stewart, or Kyle Orton.

He should also remember its the defense thats responisble for a fair chunk of points in the recent blowouts, maybe he is hoping the Bears haven’t noticed that.
____________________________

Haven't noticed what? You mean the 3 touchdowns he just threw last game (including one flawless 40 yard laser-bomb beauty?)

Shhhh....hopefully, no one is noticing that!

I know, I know - this past win wasn't QUITE as decisive as the Bears 61-7 win over Green Bay on Dec. 7, 1980, but **sigh** I guess we'll have to settle for it.

We will see how Cutler performs in the 2nd half. I'm with TokyoSB. Going to be tought for Cutler the rest of the season.

The bears have only faced one top 15 defense this season and got their asses handed to them when Cutler threw 4 ints.

They faced the 16th rated defense and lucked into winning when Carolina threw a pick 6 late when Steve Smith slipped on a route.

Now he gets to face 1 bottom half defense the rest of the way. He'll see the #1, 3, 4, 7, 11, and 13 ranked scoring defenses in the 2nd half. (or if you like the yds/game ranking the 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 11 and 12th ranked defenses. None in the bottom half.)

For a guy who shrinks under pressure he's going to be going against some very good pass rushing teams and his OL sucks. He'll simply start chucking it up and pouting when he gets drilled.

My entire life the Bears have been about three things: strong play from the Middle Linebacker position, running the football, and scoring on Defense.

Why are people shocked by this? The only difference this year is that we have an offense that is capable of scoring themselves off of a turnover. In the past we've seen turnovers, three-and-outs, and field goal after field goal when the defense makes big plays.

Fact is the Bears are going to get turnovers. It's what they do. How they capitalize off of them is the difference between a first round exit and the Super Bowl.

Granted he is the best QB the Bears have had in a while, but let’s be honest it’s still the defense winning these games. They had all the points needed to win against Tennessee before the first TD pass was thrown.
Currently has an 85.3 passer rating, and is on pace to finish the year with about 3100yds, 24TD, 16int. He’ll want long term elite money of course, but not sure how you justify it on his stats. I guess it’s the intangibles he brings that the Bears won’t want to lose.

Fair enough. If you want to talk defense?
- That Titans touchdown pass only came after a Bears turnover.
- The next Titans touchdown came in garbage time against our second string.

Meanwhile, aside from defensive touchdowns and points off turnovers in the redzone. The Bears had a special teams touchdown and Jay Cutler lead 3 long field goal drives and one 65-yard touchdown drive. At the rate the Titans were playing, it was more than enough to beat them.

thetokyosandblaster trolls: Nov 6, 2012 11:26 AM

"Obviously hasn’t looked at the schedule.

Take care of your contract when you’re 7-1 or next week at 7-2.

Why wait until after a second half collapse and first round exit, looking droopy on the sideline??

You have all the cards now, but will have none after this 10-6 season."

I know the schedule gets tougher from here on out, but the Bears are as good as the teams who have to face them in the second half...No way they go 3-5.

Houston - W
@ SF - L
MN - W
Seattle - W
@ MN - W
GB - W
@ AZ - W
@ Detroit - W

Now, do I believe they will actually finish 7-1 in the second half? No, but talent-wise they are certainly capable of it...More realistically I see 6-2 or 5-3, and finishing no worse than 12-4.

That said, I'll throw the doggie a bone...I do see GB as the biggest hurdle to jump if the Bears want to make the SB this year, especially if they face each other twice.

I wonder if the bears will include a smile clause in the next contract. after all we can't have him out there showing any emotion other than happy happy joy joy even as he is being sacked again, or more importantly he must be nice to the media and kiss up to them because that is so much more important than how he plays the game right? now that he has the power to do it I wish Cutler would audible every play when he gets to the line instead of having to run the same predictable plays. are the bears even aware that now that martz is gone you can throw to the tight end? who cares if the guy can block block or not just throw him the ball like the rest of the nfl does! and you are allowed to do more than run the ball and throw screens when you have the lead so do it!

Have you? The toughest part is coming in the next two weeks: Texans and 9ers. After that, the Vikings haven't beaten the Bears in I don't know how long. The Seahawks are beatable and the Lions have a hard time holding on to the football against us (13 turnover in 3 games) and the Cards are slipping.

Even if we lose to the Packers, 49ers, and Texans. That's still 12-4 possibly 11-5. Either way the last three years under, Jay Cutler, the Bears have been in the playoff hunt. Plus, he has a defense that makes a living off saving his butt.
