Romo is very much like Eli. They’re both streaky, they’re both capable of stretches of brilliant play but equally prone to bone-headed “what was he thinking?” play. (It’s this lack of consistency that puts them in a category just under Brady, Peyton, Brees and Rodgers.) The difference is that the Giants have a better team. A mostly better defense, a better coach, a better GM and better owners.

Let me tell you how this is going to go down, Brees is franchised and Sean Payton is getting a contract voided out in NO, does anyone else smell CONSPIRACY. My guess is you’ll see Brees and Payton together in Dallas, while drafting a guy in the first round like a Landry Jones or That kid from Georgia, ‘cus we all know Barkley is going #1 overall!

Ah, not quite sure you heard the news months ago but Brees is signed to a huge contract. So your “conspiracy” is voided before it started.

I typically love making jokes of Jerruh but at this point it’s getting nothing but sad and feel badly for Cowboy fans. Such a proud franchise under Tex Schramm and now it’s just a punch line for “knock-knock” and “glory hole” jokes.

As far as 2013 FA’s go you got Joe Flacco who is either going to be franchised or re-signed. After that there is a major drop off in talent with Matt Moore, Jason Campbell, Tavaris Jackson, and Drew Stanton.

Two potential trade targets would be Mike Vick and Tim Tebow. Neither would help the Cowboys because the last thing they need are more media headaches.

Then there’s the draft. If the season ended today they would have to make a major trade to get Barkley or Smith. Considering how many problems they have besides QB that would be foolish. They already gave up too much for Claiborne and it has come back to bite them in the ass. They might be in position to get Tyler Wilson. But looking at their schedule the Cowboys are probable to win more than lose. When all is said and done I doubt they will be able to get him barring another trade up.

Then you have to ask who could they get in round 2. Tyler Bray, EJ Manuel, and Tahj Boyd would be the most likely round 2 targets. Then you have to ask would any of those guys be better than Romo.

If anything they should go after one of those round 2 guys to compete with Romo in camp but you’re not gonna find someone better than Romo immediately.

Brees signed a new $100 million contract with NO a few months ago. He is going nowhere.

Landry Jones stock has dropped considerably in the last year-second or third round is about where he sits right now.
