The thing that totally bothers me the most is that the NFL has been relentless with their approach on the Saints these past few months. Relentless.
Adding this new sideshow circus distraction midseason is just pathetic. Could they diminish the competitive balance any further, don’t stop now… why stop now?? Go more NFL… more! Idiots. The whole lot of them. The NFL and the most importantly, NFL owners, should be ashamed for letting this circus continue. Too bad owner Benson does not carry the same weight as Kraft – take that to the bank! Had it been Kraft, do you really think this saga would continue as it has thus far? Not!!

Payton will be the coaching the Saints since Brees just signed for the remainder of his career… He would never leave a Top 3 QB!!

I agree that if the Saints and Payton don’t get this deal done before the end of the season, Goodell just might allow any team to contact him after the Saints play their last game.

But this conspiracy you speak of – where the only players to get a reduction are no longer Saints is blatantly false.

Vilma, who had been given the longest suspension had his suspension effectively reduced. The commissioner could have ruled that his suspension would carry over to the 2013 season, but he didn’t.

I would think everyone would be aware of that as it’s been well reported here and on virtually any source involved in sports.

Maybe Tagliabue will do the right thing and have the suspension (when it’s finally final) term fully served – as it should – without any pay.

marcinhouston; you are truly right Roger Goodell will never rule in favor of the Saints on anything before and probably never will. In the bounty suspension the 2 players for Saints suspension wasn’t reduced, marcinhouston a lot of people’s can’t see what Roger Goodell are doing. To my understanding Tom Benson and Sean Payton had a contract deal that ran through 2015 I don’t understand why the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell treating the Saints that way do you have any ideal.

Payton would never want to deal with Jerry Jones, the GM. The reason the NFL voided his contract in the first place was because it gave him the power to opt out if Loomis ever left the Saints organization.

It is only between two teams and thats it. Saints and Cowboys. Ed Werder also said that Payton would love to coach the Cowboys. His family and home is in Dallas, the thought of being further away is not appealing to him.
