A performance as dominant as the Bears’ last week deserves more mention, and a pair of their players got it Wednesday.

Linebacker Brian Urlacher won NFC defensive player of the week honors, and teammate Sherrick McManis won NFC special teams player of the week after Chicago’s 51-20 win over the Titans.

Urlacher returned an interception 46 yards for a touchdown, forced a fumble and had seven tackles. The pick was his 22nd, which ties him with Dick Butkus for second in franchise history (trailing Doug Buffone’s 24) among linebackers.

McManis blocked a punt in the first quarter which was returned for the touchdown which triggered the avalanche, and had two special teams tackles.

It’s the first time teammates won player of the week awards the same week since Week Four of 2008, when Tampa Bay’s Derrick Brooks (defense) and Matt Bryant (special teams) won.
