Why is it that NFL teams are the only ones donating? Where’s MLB, etc.

MLB/MLBPA also donated a million. They did it in a low-key manner, not demanding a halo.

then only thing that makes no sense whatsoever…..the Yankees, who play in New York. Who have a billion plus dollar stadium financed by New York. Whose players and team management live, were born and who claim to love New York…..gave 500k. Not to look a gift horse in the mouth…….but COME ON YANKEES!

@ironhawk, That is an uninformed and myopic viewpoint. A strong storm surge right into/through the bay would be devastating. Likely as bad or worse than Katrina. The “north” has not had a truly direct hit in a long time. That’s more luck than infrastructure.

Maybe one day Irsay will sell that one book in his library and donate even half the $3 million its probably now worth to charity.

The south is MUCH better equipped to handle a hurricane. A category one is just a thunderstorm down here, look what it did to the northeast…
The south, especially FL, was built with hurricanes and flooding in mind unlike the northern states. You should research before posting random, and false, information.

To the PFT planet … if you have time, do a little digging and donate to specific organizations, groups and so on who have to rebuild. Some of them are out of scope for help from the big charities, and won’t survive without our help.

I donated to WFMU in New Jersey, a public radio station with 100% freeform content. Sandy did a lot of damage to their facilities, and I know the money I donated will go to a source that needs the cash to survive and will put it to use right away.
