APTexans coach Gary Kubiak said Monday that nose tackle Shaun Cody was day-to-day with “rib issues.”
That’s a broad explanation, and technically not false. But it doesn’t quite do justice to the problem, either.
According to Tania Ganguli of the Houston Chronicle, Cody has a punctured lung and broken ribs, which kind of sounds worse.
“Shaun has always been able to work through things,” Kubiak said during his press conference Wednesday. “We’re 100 percent committed to the training room.”
Cody played through a back problem earlier this year, and returned to Sunday’s game. But a punctured lung goes beyond the kind of “rub some dirt on it” treatment.

Good thing this didn’t happen to Mario, he’d be out until the final year of his guaranteed money.
all honesty, I had two broken ribs that bruised my lung, you wont be able to play football with that type of injury.
Perhaps it is true…that winning cures everything.

you must have never had this injury before. A BROKE RIB HURTS. ANYTHING DONE TO THE LUNG HURTS you cannot even cough. He will be out for awhile

U must be new anybody with or without broken ribs can tell he was joking. Very funny by the way. He has more ribs & another lung.
I once had 6 “broken” ribs, a puctured lung in 3 places and numerous other internal injuries and while modern medicine has evolved tremendously since that occured I feel very strongly that with broken rib(s) and a punctured lung Shaun Cody’s doctors will not be recommending the training room for treatment. Just sayin.
