@denverdude7: Routt was released by the RAIDERS when the new regime took over after Al Davis passed. That was the first move Big Reg made.

Please refrain from lumping the RAIDERS in with the chiefs- apples and oranges.

Also, you and the other haters are going to have to come up with some new material regarding the RAIDERS- Al Davis is gone, a new GM and HC are in place- the only thing that remains from Al are the Silver and Black, the rest is brand new.

Geniusfan- at the risk of patronizing you, I’m fairly aware that we’ve signed Aqib TAlib, and (bring on nay-sayers) I believe he is instantly our best DB. That being said….. The patriots cannot have enough of ‘em. I say kick the damn tires on Routt and if BB sees something, add him. He may not be looking for break-the-bank contract and maybe wants to play for a contender. We can use him, for sure.

Long story short, if your content with our DB depth….. You’re one optimistic dude.

You mean the Romney plan? Cat ain’t worked for 10 years and made $20 million last year while only paying a 14% tax rate. And that was overstated since he gave $4 million to the magic underwear wearers but only claimed $2 million. Effective tax rate was probably really 12% but he did it pre-emptively since he planned on running. 12% tax rate is less than most restaurant servers pay. He sure bamboozled a lot of racist rednecks to get 49% of the popular vote.

We’re talking about Routt…
Stanford Routt did work, just not to your standard (which is your opinion). Why should he be taxed more for working in a position that’s a higher value in America (NFL Player – and higher value by your own country’s choice, judging by TV ratings) than a restaurant server?

It’s not his fault he made the most of his life, while some of you want to collect free handouts for the rest of yours.

Here’s the deal on Routt. He isn’t a very good player period. I took him 5 years in the league to become a starter. When he did he was playing opposite Nnamdi Asomugha and, because of that, generally covered the opposing team’s second receiver. He didn’t do that all that well, and played horribly when he became the #1 corner last year when Nnamdi left.

He’s never tackled well, and above everything else he is a me first guy. He’s more concerned with his individual stats than how the D is playing. More than anything I would bet money it’s his attitude as to why the Raiders and Chiefs cut him. That’s also the reason the Raiders don’t want him back when they are so banged up at corner. That alone should tell you a lot. Good luck to any team that’s picks up this joker.
