I have to keep saying it every time these whiny Giants fans come out of the woodwork:

It is bend, don’t break (which has worked other than players’ gaffes — not the scheme itself), they clamp down in the red zone, he runs a good deal of zone in order to rely on the pass rush to force the QB to hold the ball for an extra second or so, and either they get the sack, or pressure him to make a rushed decision, which allows the DBs to fly around and get INTs, or be in place to swarm the ball and force strips, which is what he said when he got here. Of late, they’ve gotten sacks, they’re 2nd in the NFL in turnovers forced and have a boatload of INTs. The “holes” Green speaks of are the areas that the zone allows as the primary focus of the defense is to force the passer into a bad decision with the confusing looks with the back seven (which is why you don’t see him blitzing that much). But if your QB does not have the time to see you sitting down in the zone, there’s no “hole”.
